Seidenberg extension in Boston. 4 years, $16 million. No-trade clause included. #TSN

StrongIslanders90 10-03-2013 04:24 PM

good for BOS...solid terms as well

MattFromFranklin 10-03-2013 04:24 PM

Awesome deal!

Toydarian 10-03-2013 04:24 PM

I've always felt Seidenberg is one of the most over looked defensemen in the league.

NoShowWilly 10-03-2013 04:25 PM

very solid deal.

BruinsBtn 10-03-2013 04:26 PM

The German hammer is as tough as they come.

Still remember when he laid that beating on Colby Armstrong.

Glad to see him stay in Boston.

Bordeleau Of Blood 10-03-2013 04:26 PM

Excellent deal.

Mystifo 10-03-2013 04:26 PM

Kind of Jelly of this. Really solid cap hit for a good #2.

vanwest 10-03-2013 04:27 PM

A really underrated player. Very good value.

RJ8812* 10-03-2013 04:27 PM

and the Flyers traded him for Petr Nedved

Lemieuxfan 10-03-2013 04:27 PM

The cap hit is great, but not sure about the length, he will be close to 37 years old, if the contract runs out. On the other side, he might wanted more money on a shorter deal.

Florida traded him for two scrubs and a pick.

you have to give a little, to get a little

Yzlamic Preacher 10-03-2013 04:29 PM

Damn it... Great signing for Boston. I wanted him in Tampa.

Hivemind 10-03-2013 04:30 PM

Great value on the deal, but the NTC for an aging player on a 4-year deal is a bit concerning.

Goon42 10-03-2013 04:32 PM

Solid deal. Always liked Seidenberg.

Savant 10-03-2013 04:32 PM

Simply put, a fair deal.

Penalty Kill Icing* 10-03-2013 04:33 PM

Great value. Chiarelli has gotten some bargains lately on guys like him and Bergeron.

GKJ 10-03-2013 04:35 PM

It angers me that the Flyers let him get away, and then passed on a chance to get him back. Ugh.

PatriceBergeronFan 10-03-2013 04:37 PM

Wait, what? Where did this come from.... Love it. This contract and his last (3.75 million or so) he has been ridiculously underpaid as one of the best #2 defensemen in the league.

I'm not saying, that it's a bad deal!! I could imagine, that the cap raises up to 75M in the next years. 4M will most likley not hurt then. Even at 36/37 I expect him to be a 2M+ guy easily...like I said, I think it's a good deal with some risk involved.

L4vK 10-03-2013 04:41 PM

Awesome deal... Chia know how to negotiate deal !

Doothpick 10-03-2013 04:42 PM

Great deal for Bruins. Seidenberg is a warrior.

BudMovin* 10-03-2013 04:44 PM

He is supposedly the hardest trainer on the team (even more than Chara), so he will still be in great shape at the end of the deal.

Ice Cream Man 10-03-2013 04:46 PM

Wish we had him in Calgary. Solid defenseman.
