NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

They did exactly what they wanted to do out there. The difference between the teams—the way we played, the way they played—was too great.
Very disappointing coming from last night and the way we played. We had higher expectations, so this was definitely not good enough.
- Henrik Lundqvist

We have to try to find a way to get momentum back ourselves and stick together as a group in those situations.
And that’s something we need to try to do here.
- Ryan McDonagh

San Jose was on top of their game. They were on top of their execution. The score could have been three or four to one after the first period.
So tough to understand at this point how we can play so well last night and play like this tonight. So we have 48 hours before our next game and we’ll come up with some answers.
- Alain Vigneault

That second line has looked good at times but nobody wants to pull the trigger. Always seems like its one too many passes with those guys, like they're always looking for a highlight reel goal. One or two quick passes then get the puck to the net. Simplify the game.

I Eat Crow 10-10-2013 12:12 AM

Duck and cover.

DoTheBlue 10-10-2013 12:25 AM

Coyotes = loss
Kings = win
Sharks = loss

I know what's wrong with this team.

They seem to have trouble playing teams with animal names.

Tonight could confirm my observations in which case I recommend hunting lessons or watching a few episodes of Duck Dynasty.

aufheben 10-10-2013 12:29 AM

Don't know what to expect, but it probably ain't great. Oh well, LGR.

Machinehead 10-10-2013 12:44 AM

Can we not?

Well done :handclap:
It's going to be absolutely awful when they play the Predators.

Penguins - OUCH
Islanders - No problem
Hurricanes - Windy but soul-less
Capitals - Robots without a living soul
FLYER - Not sure but sounds like a fable thing
Blue Jackets (mini Rangers) - Doable

Is The Devil an animal? I fear it is...

mike14 10-10-2013 01:25 AM

get back on that horse....

Is there any word on how long Nash is expected to be out for?

Ail 10-10-2013 05:32 AM

Should be interesting to see how they respond.

Agreed. Will say a lot about this team's character.

Last 10pm game (on this road trip)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yo:

bubba5 10-10-2013 06:40 AM

this teams character or lack of it, proved it to me on tuesday when no one did anything to stick up for Nash especially when the game was already over when it was 7-2.... if this was any other team that injured a top line player, you know their would have been a scrum of some type...

remember in the playoffs when James Neal started to run around the Flyers, and guess what happened...

why cant this Rangers team respond like the Flyers did..

nyrpassion 10-10-2013 07:04 AM

haha, a sense of dread washed over me when I saw the GDT

Vickers8 10-10-2013 07:08 AM

We know for certain Nash is out?

Infinitum Vitae* 10-10-2013 07:37 AM

nash probably wont be back untill the caps game if we're lucky... guessing we're going to see a more defensive game tonight with Nash out

HatTrick Swayze 10-10-2013 07:48 AM

I think they're gonna come out firing (in terms of intensity) and take at least a point from this one.

2 reasons.

1. It was the middle of the first period. Taking stupid penalties would have been a terrible idea.

2. Nash wasn't injured. He played the rest of the period

M Gaz 10-10-2013 08:03 AM

Just win. Please. I don't think I'll be able to handle a Rangers' loss after what the Giants are gonna put me through tonight

Faxius 10-10-2013 08:04 AM

Can Joe Thornton call them soft again? Seemed to work the last time.

But they couldn't have done something after the mid-2nd period collapse? I'm tired of hearing excuses for it.

Agreed. I was not talking about doing something when the game was close. When the game was already over the Rangers should have done something. I'm tired of this heartless team. Rangers are as soft as the Habs. Although I bet the Habs are tougher at this time..

BroadwayBlues 10-10-2013 08:34 AM

GA - 14

We can only hope that being forced to watch the tape of that disgrace will provide the same boost.
