Jason Zucker Suspended for Head Shot on Linus Omark

Zucker layed the following hit, earning himself a 5 minute Major with a 10 minute Match Penalty (which includes automatic one game suspension if i'm not mistaken). Likely more supplemental discipline to come. Certainly not a good hit or one we would want to see. He will deserve any suspension he gets, thats for sure.

Looks like a pretty dirty hit there, hate to see that from Zucker and I hope Omark is ok

MuckOG 10-14-2013 01:13 PM

Nasty hit. Zucker deserves whatever discipline comes his way.

Lapa 10-14-2013 01:15 PM

I hate seeing things like that.. Especially from one of my favourite prospects.

Hope Omark is OK.

oilWILDcountry 10-14-2013 01:18 PM

Yikes that was a brutal hit. Deserves whatever suspension is coming at him.

Fel 96 10-14-2013 01:20 PM

Like I said in the IA Wild thread, as it should be.

Also, unlike the Hall hit on Brodin last season, it really shouldn't be overturned.

AKL 10-14-2013 01:20 PM

Eh, whatever. After all the nasty hits he received last year, it's nice to see him on the other side of one.

Even though the Hall hit was dirtier than Mike and the boys.

45 seconds prior to this event happening, Zucker was legally checked while handling the puck by Tyler Pitlick. The next sequence featured Zucker skating around looking for someone to hit, and eventually skating sideways to nail Sir Linus. Yuck.

I know it's from an OKC perspective, but I really hope this **** is not true.

Victorious Secret 10-14-2013 01:26 PM

I think we need to see the full video first.

rynryn 10-14-2013 01:29 PM

yea reserving judgement. looks like he was looking for someone to hit, but hell, I like that kind of attitude. so not going to vilify him for seeking out someone to crush. you can't tell **** from that gif.

Fel 96 10-14-2013 01:48 PM

Yeah, I wish I could find the whole sequence to find out the truth.

I'm not gonna spend $3.99 to see 1 play on AHL Live.

Minnesota 10-14-2013 01:54 PM

Unexpected.

Fel 96 10-14-2013 01:56 PM

To be honest, I don't think the organization really liked what they saw.

I'd be curious to see if it'll affect anything in the future.

thestonedkoala 10-14-2013 01:56 PM

Ugly hit.

This seems really hypocritical considering how everyone goes out their way to vilify guys who takes shots at our players and call them pieces of ****; but when it's one of our guys doing the hitting it's ok.

I'm all for playing with an edge but there's no place in the game for head hunting.

No kidding. Honestly, I'm wondering how much of this is because of how mad he is that he's still down in Iowa and not on the big boy club? Not exactly something you wanna be known for.

INTOTHEVOID 10-14-2013 03:25 PM

Damn Zucker what the hell are you thinking, that is a terrible hit... fully deserves whatever punishment he gets.

Jagged Ice 10-14-2013 03:27 PM

Where's the video?

Hoping this isn't true. You can't lose your **** like that over a legal hit.

Ladde 10-14-2013 04:01 PM

Hes not in it mentally. Must be tought because he missed most of the pre-season inresult of injury and then was sent down. That was a dirty hit though. Completely blindsided him.

I'll reserve judgement until I see any evidence of that, but that certainly was not anywhere near a good hit. Hope he gets a few games to make sure he doesn't do something like that again.

Victorious Secret 10-14-2013 04:27 PM

Can we change the thread title? I keep thinking of Zucker making himself a stiff drink.

don't lump me in with the rest of you softie softs. I actually like the way Hall plays. it would be hypocritical if I were one of you, but i'm not.

Fair enough, if that's how you feel that's fine I just didn't want to see the same people who always gripe about it start to defend Zucker in this scenario.

I couldn't remember if you were "one of those"
