UFA's Traded at Deadline Coming Back in Offseason
I'm curious what players in history have been traded at the deadline or mid year to contenders as upcoming UFA's, then went back to their original team in the offseason.

Glen Wesley is one, tho he didn't exactly get traded right on the deadline.

Doug Weight and Glen Wesley are the only two that spring to mind, although I'm sure there have been a couple others.

Keith Tkachuk is the one that comes to mind right away

I think Mark Recchi went back to Pittsburgh after being traded to Carolina for their '06 Cup run.

It's hard to remember because of the lockout, but Geoff Sanderson fits as well. He was with the Blue Jackets in 03-04, was traded to Vancouver, but was back in Columbus when the NHL picked up again in 05-06.

Oli Jokinen. Calgary -> Rangers (missed the decisive shootout in last game) -> Calgary

Vinny Prospal traded by the Lightning to the Flyers, then next season was with the Lightning again.

Could be kind of cheating as the Lightning did trade a pick (4th??) for his rights couple of days before July 1st - But it was still the offseason.

Technically Keith Tkachuk was traded back to the Blues before he re-signed, I don't know if that fits in with the OPs criteria or not.

Doug Weight was traded to Carolina the year they won the cup and then returned as an UFA to St. Louis during the following offseason.

don't know if he was traded right at the deadline but francis bouillon went from montreal to nashville in '03, played a few games for the preds and signed back with montreal before the next season
