Are the Oilers the worst team in N.A. professional sports over the past 5 years?

This is not meant to be another piss and moan thread, but more so a comparison of our team and others that have struggled in the NHL, NBA, MLB and NFL over the past 5 years.

I don't believe we are the worst, but very possibly in the top 3. We have to be better than the Detroit Lions .......but maybe not so much anymore.

without a doubt.

Katz can move these losers to Seattle for all I care. I'm beyond tired of being embarrassed by this pathetic excuse of an NHL team.

402 10-29-2013 09:34 PM

The answer is no we are not

jumptheshark 10-29-2013 09:34 PM

is it even close and do we need another one of these threads?

Too late! :)

This fan base is incredibly bipolar.

Killer Z 10-29-2013 09:40 PM

We might have an edge on the Charlotte Bobcats.

Bipolar is extremes between highs and lows.

There are no highs in Edmonton with this team.

Ragss 10-29-2013 09:42 PM

I follow neither, but I thought there were baseball and football teams that have just always sucked.

Sure seems like it on here when they win.

Mint 10-29-2013 09:44 PM

I have to say they are. At least the Bobcats made the playoffs in 2009.

This run has ruined the Oilers 80's legacy IMO. They will be known by their joke team in the 21st century.

MISC* 10-29-2013 09:45 PM

Houston Astros

What's this winning thing you speak of?

dustrock 10-29-2013 09:47 PM

Last 5 years? At least an arguable case, which is all you need really.

Seems to me that it's happened 3 times this year.

BarDownBobo 10-29-2013 09:49 PM

I'd say the Lions are better, but the Buffalo Bills or Carolina Panthers might be worse.

guymez 10-29-2013 09:49 PM

The Oilers are in the conversation and that in and of itself is embarrassing.

Mav3rick07 10-29-2013 09:49 PM

God no. Worst in the NHL? Why yes. In all of sports? No.

Cleveland Browns. Buffalo Bills. Miami Dolphins. Jacksonville Jaguars. Oakland Raiders. St.Louis Rams. Columbus Blue Jackets. Florida Panthers. Seattle Mariners. Miami Marlins. Chicago Cubs.

Pretty sure all those teams have been just as miserable as the Oilers in the past 5 years.

5 years isn't that long of a span anyways. Talk to a Chicago Cubs fan and they'll laugh in your face.

Kind of a hard thing to state considering the oilers have managed a whopping 3 wins in 14 games.

Horseradish 10-29-2013 09:51 PM

Who cares? Is there a conversation to be had about it or are you just a voyeur with regards to your anger?

Citrus Fruits 10-29-2013 09:51 PM

Eskimos.

Not at all. Just stating an observation. It's an overly emotional board.

When they win the talk is as though they've turned the corner and as if things will continue to build for them.

When they lose, it's the worst ever and threads like this get started.

As far as the topic of this thread goes, yes, they have to be in the conversation.
