NewHabsEra* 11-06-2013 09:52 AM

Moen ready to come bacK and DD back in the line-up I guess..

Rosso Scuderia 11-06-2013 09:52 AM

Welcome back DD, we missed ya.

Saundies 11-06-2013 09:53 AM

As bad is DD is/has been, he's more useful (maybe?) than St. Pierre AND Leblanc. Same as Moen.

This is good.

No, he's not. Leblanc played with DD and he was way better, with a lot more drive and intensity.

Glad Moen is back though. He will help our 4th line.

Leblanc has been pretty decent. I'd say he was better than DD easily.

Hate to say it man, but Leblanc didn't do anything for me when he was up. Had maybe 1 good game, didn't do anything to stand out. Bournival's younger and way ahead of him in terms of development, and it shows.

PyrettaBlaze 11-06-2013 10:02 AM

Moen and Desharnais back in the lineup? So exciting! :scared:

Lines at practice:

Bournival-Plekanec-Gionta
Galchenyuk-Eller-Gallagher
Pacioretty-Desharnais-Bourque
Moen-White-Parros

shutehinside 11-06-2013 10:03 AM

Have to say that LL did not impress.

As much as I always love to see our prospects do well and make a meaningful contribution at the NHL level, I think LL is done with Montreal.

He's been given his chance and didn't really do much despite playing with Eller and Bourque on a good 3rd line. If the Habs make a trade soon, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go. He probably needs a new scene to revive his career or at least get it started.

MXD 11-06-2013 10:03 AM

The meaning of this depends on the number of healthy players tomorrow.

But inclined to think DD is coming back. If faceoffs are an indicator.

Mrb1p 11-06-2013 10:04 AM

What did Leblanc do to warrant going back to the AHL ? Bieng himself ?

DD outplayed him I guess ?

But I'm not comparing him to Bournival.. I compared him to DD who except winning face-off, is not bringing anything. Not saying Leblanc made a statement or anything but compared to DD, I think Leblanc played better.

Leblanc deserves better, but if we can't trade DD, we have to play him I guess... :s

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Leblanc's stat-line: 0 goals, 0 assists. Pretty much on par for DD's production.

You expected him to score a goal a game while playing on the 3rd/4th line ?

He showed more than Gionta, Pacioretty, Galchenyuk, DD and all those AHL scrubs.

Haaabs 11-06-2013 10:07 AM

I don't get it, I thought St-Pierre was our best player on the PP since he was the forward that spent the most time on it last night.:help:

You're kidding right?

Leblanc played 5 games and you compared him to DD who has 15, with tons of ice time and PPs?

I think is callup... Appears to have been more a message sent to DD than anything else.

LeBlanc didn't play badly but he can use more AHL time. The Habs need Desharnais to get back to being a prime set up man whoever he plays with. It's pretty obvious Galchenyuk is not the short term answer.

Et le But 11-06-2013 10:18 AM

I thought Leblanc looked pretty good, I'd rather have him on the 3rd line than some of the alternatives.

Eller needs 2 way-players to play with. Not to fully excuse his poor decision making, but he's mostly been good defensively, and if we want him to contribute more than that, he needs the type of help Briere can't offer.

ak90210 11-06-2013 10:24 AM

Even if you want to put Desharnais back in the lineup and Moen is back, Parros should be scratched and Leblanc should stay up.

I thought Leblanc was decent...although he was never really given much of an opportunity, I would liked to have seen him on the PK.

I still think people are way too severe in their evaluation of Leblanc, sure he'll never be a a big time scorer, but I think he can be a very good 2 way player at some point.

He still needs to get stronger to play his type of game though.

Runner77 11-06-2013 10:39 AM

I thought they might have sent a stronger message to DD, rather than bring him back after just one game. The way they handled, it accomplishes nothing.

I didn't expect a PPG but a single, solitary point would have been nice in the 5 games he played. Considering he played the wing with 2 big bodies while Bourque scored a few and Eller being a decent centre to play with, I'd say he was given a very decent opportunity. It's not like he was playing the 4th line with White and Parros. He certainly didn't deserve to play on the top 2 lines so given the time and linemates he got, I would have expected more from a player who's plumetting down the depth chart as Bergevin told him.

I didn't say he played bad or that he wasn't a decent prospect. He just seems to be one of those players who needs a change as the organization has clearly lost faith in him.

Personally, I'd like to have seen more compete and more drive in his play. See a player like Bournival who I think LL should have been playing like. Very similiar players but Bournival plays with a lot more energy and compete than does LL. As such, after starting the season on the 4th line, he earned his way up the roster.

That's why saying "he wasn't given an opportunity blah blah blah" is such a dumb arguement. Play hard and smart and you will EARN your opportunity. Obviously, this is something LL has not done and did not do in his most recent call up, depsite what some people say. If he did, he'd still be in the line up.
