Pierre-Marc Bouchard

Well with the Islander place him on waivers would it be worth the Preds claiming him.
I mean what do we have to lose worth a shot to go after a player with a offensive upside.

because the downside is, he has no upside... closing in on 30, and has been ineffective for the better part of five years since his injury (which cost him an entire season.)

Small, and unable to get back to where he was when he was 22 and playing with a very dynamic Gaborik... not gonna fly in Nashville.

His PDO is near the worst in the league, which basically means he's been playing in unsustainably bad circumstances. He's still a useful player, and if it makes Hendricks\Clune(sorry) every-few-game players, then there's little risk. He's signed for the rest of the year for 2 million bucks.

It's absolutely worth a shot.

Why the hell not? I mean come on, it's not like this team is going anywhere anyways. Might as well take a shot in the dark if he gets to us.

Drake744 12-09-2013 04:37 PM

Yeah why not? We don't wanna inject bad chemistry into this Cup contender? We have nothing to lose except most of our games.

cleangene63 12-09-2013 05:19 PM

He can be scratched as easily as Smith

"Enough with the old guys, play the kids!"

"Pick up a 30 year old who just got waived by the Islanders and pay him to take minutes away from our young Fs!"

Not saying it's an awful move, just pointing out an inconsistency.

PMB=Ryan Ellis, except older and with no potential. I'm fine with picking him up, but only if we trade Ellis for best value and use PMB as a temporary replacement.

PMB is a forward. You might be thinking of Marc-Andre Bergeron?

Your point remains though. Too many players fighting for ice time as is, let alone adding another low-ceiling veteran into the mix.

I really hope Poile does not. I've seen some isles games this year and he has been god awful.

I would typically agree with you, but I would rather have PMB than freaking hendricks taking ice time from a youngster, plus if he can actually do something maybe we can trade him at the deadline.

When Trotz wanted to play Clune, who did he scratch? Hendricks? Spaling? No, Craig Smith. First off, I doubt he'd play PMB in our current lineup anyways, and if he did, it wouldn't be Hendricks watching from the press box. It'd be Bourque/Wilson/Smith/Forsberg/Stalberg.

Sorry, I forgot Trotz doesn't have a brain.

Sorry looks like Poile passed on your latest waiver-wire savior:

@TSNBobMcKenzie
NYI Pierre-Marc Bouchard clears waivers.
