Toronto - Philadelphia

This is a trade that would really help fix the Leafs and would give the Flyers a puck mover who can log a lot of minutes. And before anyone says Kulemin is trash, Dreger says a lot of teams around the league see him as a valuable piece to a team

To Toronto:
C - Sean Couturier
D - Braydon Coburn

To Philadelphia:
D - Jake Gardiner
LW - Nikolai Kulemin
D - Stuart Percy
2014 1st Round Pick
2015 Conditional 3rd Round Pick (Based on Kulemin re-signing)

Jot 12-09-2013 07:04 PM

Philadelphia declines.

B.Schenn is easier to acquire over Couturier.

We can trade picks from past drafts? 1950-1980 1st rounders for Crosby! :)

CMammoliti81 12-09-2013 07:05 PM

Sorry I meant 2015 conditional 3rd round pick

Jot 12-09-2013 07:11 PM

Jake Gardiner + 2014 1st(14-20) > Sean Couturier

Nikolai Kulemin + Stuart Percy < Braydon Coburn

Based on that, value isn't too bad. Leafs are a bubble playoff team.

FishManSam 12-09-2013 07:11 PM

Nope

Inverted 12-09-2013 07:11 PM

I doubt Toronto would do this, they could easily find themselves out of the playoffs by end of this month and that pick might be in the top 8-10 come April. Not worth giving up it up along with Gardiner for another unproven player.

Blaaah 12-09-2013 07:17 PM

No..

ARoggy94 12-09-2013 07:21 PM

I'd do it in the leafs perspective but Philly really has no reason to downgrade assets

Richard F Schiller 12-09-2013 07:28 PM

I don't think Philly would do this, Quantity ≠ Quality. Besides, they think that Couturier's the second coming of Christ, doubt they'd trade him now.

laundryman 12-09-2013 07:57 PM

The Flyers won't move Couturier with Kulemin being the centerpiece coming back

edit: didn't see Gardiner in there, but I'd still decline.

SeaOfBlue 12-09-2013 07:58 PM

No thanks. However, if Philly wants to do a deal that revolves around Franson for Coburn, I'd be for it.

I don't even see where Coutourier would even play for us long term? Without injuries, he wouldn't be playing at all, unless he or a center moved to the wing. I'd just do a deal around Franson (or Gardiner maybe) for Coburn.

I'm sorry, you don't think Couturier could play for you? Simple answer...3rd line C this year. Then over the next few years, he moves to the top 2 lines and Bozak slides to the 3rd line.

Yeah, no. Not even close.

flyershockey 12-09-2013 08:25 PM

Coburn has been fantastic this year. They simply can't move him with what's left on the unit. Couturier obviously has immense value to them as well. Not a bad proposal overall though, even if declined.

The Dream 12-09-2013 08:25 PM

no from Philly.

And where does Bolland play? Please do some research first, we have many good centers

Phion Keneuf 12-09-2013 08:48 PM

No from leafs.

Pekka Rinne 12-09-2013 09:08 PM

No way the flyers do this.

Yeah, no. A UFA 3rd line winger and a B-prospect does not get you a good #3 signed for 3 more years.

Geese_Howard* 12-09-2013 09:18 PM

Mark my words, leafs will regret trading Percy. This guy is a solid, smart player.

Jray42 12-09-2013 09:32 PM

No from Philly.

The value isn't terrible, but we just have no reason to make that trade. Downgrading both Coburn and Couturier for a 1st round pick just doesn't make sense.

If Couturier AND Coburn are moving in the same deal (highly, highly unlikely), then it's almost a certainty that it's for a deal for a solid upgrade on Coburn, not for a bunch of quantitative pieces (or at least I'd hope so). Even then, it would have to be one hell of an upgrade.

Just my $.02

Follow you own advice. Bolland is out a long time then a UFA

How so?

Philadelphia Ducks 12-09-2013 09:46 PM

no thanks.
