Briere = Useless

Let's face it, even outside of tonight's loss Briere has done nothing but expose our weaknesses even more. He's slow, he doesn't backcheck, he provides no offence, he is soft, he doesn't bring any energy to any line. If DD and Bouillon weren't enough, we had to add Briere to the list. So I was wondering, is it possible to waiver him if it's not possible to trade him for a xth round pick?

Who could of predicted it..

shutehinside 12-12-2013 08:48 PM

I 2nd, 3rd and 4th that motion!

LeHab 12-12-2013 08:48 PM

He is producing at about the same pace as last year. Why are people expecting more?

NewHabsEra* 12-12-2013 08:49 PM

Great Bergevin signing thats for sure.. :shakehead

Doesnt fit on this team at all..

Demon Wolf 12-12-2013 08:49 PM

I think he's been playing pretty well lately, especially with Pleks and Gio.

His production rate is far superior to that stump Desharnais'.

Bergevin apologists will be out in full force though, "it's only been two losses".

Even if he isn't producing, every time he gets on the ice with any line, he makes it tougher on his linemates because they are essentially playing shorthanded with him on the ice.

expy 12-12-2013 08:51 PM

Bouillon....

Goals and assists is all that really important, right? I would gladly trade both of them, but DD has been superior to Brière all year long.

Bergevin had a ****** summer, to say the least.

Analyzer* 12-12-2013 08:53 PM

I only saw 13 minutes of it, but he was more useful than Desharnais.

That guy is ****ing useless. As a matter of fact, the whole team sucked outside of Galchenyuk from what I saw.

There's no point in comparing '****' to 'diarrhea'; at least you didn't mention Bouillon 'boiling diarrhea'.

Runner77 12-12-2013 08:55 PM

To think that it was reported how Brière had 12 teams chasing him this past summer.

Any chance we could float him to one of those 11 who missed out? They deserve another shot.

M.C.G. 31 12-12-2013 08:56 PM

I hated it when we were chasing him, I hated it when we signed him and I still hate it.

Redundant, lazy, over-the-hill, no hustle...yet we gave him 4 million after just being bought out. That's the right the Flyers paid for him not to play for their team anymore and we gave him a salary that makes him the 4th highest paid forward on the team.

The right side is already small with Gallagher and Gionta and we already have a centre who requires coddling to produce and contribute: Desharnais. For some reason, Bergevin thought that this player, who is pretty much the worst fit possible, would make the Canadiens a better team.

But don't worry guys, he'll come up big in the playoffs.

Brière is a centerman. He hasn't played his position all year. At the very least, before saying that a player sucked...hwo about playing him at the position he is better at playing.

Nah. You've been here long enough and lived near Montreal long enough to know habs fans are the most bipolar and dumbest around.

Pretty clear. Brière is a hockey player of the past. ;)

So is Galchennyuk.

He shouldn't have been signed in the first place - we have one too many centremen as it is without him.

If DD is traded (god willing) maybe it'll force Therrien's hand in juggling the lines. Until then, Briere is going to suck and he's gonna have a NMC to boot.

Luiginho 12-12-2013 09:01 PM

Briere was one or my most hated players ever and couldn't ever imagined him wearing the habs jersey in my worst nightmare. I was really mad when we signed him. However I decided that I'll take it with an open mind, and try to wish the best for him and the team. And I still didn't give up on him yet.

BUT WTF WAS BERGEVING THINKING FFS?

Tsundere 12-12-2013 09:02 PM

Should've just thrown the 4mil at Jagr or Lecavalier. Even injured Lecavalier would be bringing more to our team than Briere is actively doing.
