I don't know why they wouldn't invite him. He is the type of player they need, he is all heart and soul.

Yeah I was shocked not to see him. But to be honest he's 35 now. Sakic is 36 but Roenick has never been the same calibre of Sakic. Besides USA is moving out their old guard and bringing in some new guys. The'll have a rotten team in '06 but they have to rebuild.

This is what was posted on the World Forum by Noodles:

During the press conference, USA hockey mentioned that they left some guys off the list because they felt some players didn't really need to worry about orientation (Chelios, Roenick, Hull, etc.). Some of the veteran guys are there just to help the younger guys.

So Roenick will go but he just wasnt invited.

After looking at the list I would much rather have Roenick than someone like Jason Blake, but since Roenick wasn't invited that means he will get a break giving him some rest for the end of the season.

This is only an orientation to fill players in on what is expected of them. Only, what, 29 players were invited...think that's enough for an Olympic roster? The tryouts have not started yet, so don't get your panties in a bunch.
