Jagr and Cap...
I've got no idea how much more room we have but this guy has limited our options (which may or may not be a bad thing).

Basically, we're dealing with less than a $35 million cap (reserving $4 plus million for Jagr) while he's weighing his options.

Sorta pisses me off on principle.

Jagr doesn't offend me that much. He's actually value under the cap b/c he's worth more. He might turn out to be the team's best trade asset come next deadline. You have to hope that contenders keep enough cap space open to absorb his salary at the deadline.

Kasparaitis is far more a problem, IMO. He's a third the player Jagr is but is earning nearly as much. When you consider what Hatcher signed for, Kasparaitis's contract is just bloody awful.

I agree about his worth...
IF he decides to play in the NHL this year.

If he doesn't, the only ones who gain are the Washington Capitols.

If he opts for Omsk, what should the Rangers do?

I thought it was already determined he did not have a choice? Didn't the IIHF say he was under contract with the Rangers and could not play elsewhere until it expires.
