Watching the minnesota ohio state outdoor game in the freezing freezing cold
they talked to the rink maker and he said they were trying to warm up the ice
warm up the ice?
I'm thinking if it's too hard they might have trouble digging in with their blades. Our rink has soft (warmer) ice and it's way easy to dig in with your blades compared to a modern rink. I imagine going too cold could work against you. Also, possibly the zamboni could have trouble shaving the ice down if it's too hard. I'm just pulling all of this out of my backside, btw. I don't really know.
It makes it brittle if too cold. Nice article here :https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...760-hyrYvPVrfg
