Is Nashville trying to add anybody ?

It seems the Predators is one team content with all their previous players and aren't trying to upgrade during free agency.

It's like they are dead around here.

Creepy.

They're playing it smart, they did acquire Markov from PHI. Personally I think they should focus on resigning their players, they already have a solid team, they may just wait until after the second buy-out to snatch up some newly dumped players.

Well on the bright side, theres the UFA market next year that could be flooded w/ stars- ive heard Reddon,Chara,Jovo,Thornton,Lecavlier among others

Markov was a great pick up.

Still trying to add a top 6 center, according to Poile...but it might not be a free agent. They've apparently been investigating trades\salary dumps. Tried to get Demitra, and are rumored to be after one of Lindros or Allison. Ray Shero urged Preds fans to be patient...the team knows its weaknesses and "will address them"

the fans and management love the defense, especially after wisely bringing back Eaton after letting him go.

They have a few holes they'd probably like to plug, however, they have a ton of good prospects they'd like to play first. They're still a young team, no point in adding a bunch of old players.

we have no one capable of filling the center position on whatever top six line legwand DOESN'T play on. the team is committed to either signing someone or trading to GET someone to do that. suter will play on the third pairing and one of upshall or gamache will get a shot at the open RW spot...so there will be youth in the lineup, but this team is determined to get further than the first round this year...so that one big glaring weakness needs to be addressed.

Just because there was a lockout does not mean we can magically spend 10 million more dollars. We will be eligible for the revenue sharing, and if the fans come to see the Preds this year, we may be able to raise our payroll more in the future. Its a shame that the lockout came when it did, as Preds hockey was selling out there with the playoffs finally in reach....but anyways, we have to play it safe because frankly, it looks like we are one of about 3-4 teams that aren't able to spend 30 million + in the FA market this year.

:dunno:

I could see Stumpel end up in Nashville if Lindros and Allison sign elsewhere
