Islanders, 1/31: Rubber Match
Ok maybe one more night with baseball lingo, cause we had to take dat season series :yo:

3 stars inbound.

17futurecap 01-31-2014 08:45 PM

AV smirk after empty net goal was great.

pld459666 01-31-2014 08:46 PM

after that 2nd period, this was a big win for the boys.

Islanders trucked us, to come out of that period tied 1-1 was huge.

Big effort, big win.

Bozle 01-31-2014 08:46 PM

1. Hank
2. Staal
3. Girardi

Holocene 01-31-2014 08:46 PM

Staal is a ******* beast. He gets all the stars.

LittleKev6D9 01-31-2014 08:47 PM

Entire team sucked. Fire AV. Trade em all. Can't believe we lost this one.....

Oh we won. Going off this whiny board I thought we got blown out.

17futurecap 01-31-2014 08:47 PM

I love how much Kreider seems to get under every teams skin.

jas 01-31-2014 08:48 PM

Nice effort in the 3rd. If this is the Marc Staal we get the rest of the way, he needs to be re-upped. Deja vu...Staal was a beast. I've been writing that a lot lately.

*Bob Richards* 01-31-2014 08:48 PM

Staal was awesome.

Awesome, awesome period.

The Gloaming 01-31-2014 08:48 PM

Staal was amazing. What a turnaround he's had. Zucc was Zuccing. Hank saved our bacon on more than one occasion, kept us in the game in the second period.

SixGoalieSystem 01-31-2014 08:48 PM

I don't know wtf happened in the 2nd, but the two other periods were great. Love Kreider when he plays with an edge.

Yes as do I he must talk a lot of smack out there

Placid 01-31-2014 08:49 PM

Hard fought victory. Looked good in the first, absolutely dead in the second, then came back in the third.

Also starting to see some major differences in ice time between the lines now.

KingStian 01-31-2014 08:49 PM

Canīt argue with the stars. Staal might have deserved the second though.

Megustaelhockey 01-31-2014 08:49 PM

Rangers gonna range... a game where justice wasn't fully served until the third period. I hope to see many more periods like that third period on home ice.

Callagraves 01-31-2014 08:49 PM

I formally request we continue to wear the Ranger-Wolf Pack jerseys until our first loss in them.

ajdj10 01-31-2014 08:49 PM

Every time Zucc has the puck I just ****.

yrrebbor 01-31-2014 08:49 PM

Let's play like that third period, and wear the new jerseys, every game!

Siddi 01-31-2014 08:49 PM

Starting to win games they have no business winning is a good sign.

Bozle 01-31-2014 08:50 PM

Especially nice win for SAM

I think the reason Zucc got it was because of the setup for the GWG. Just amazing.

smoneil 01-31-2014 08:50 PM

Zucc, Staal, McD, Henrik are the stars (in any order). Kreider, Stralman and Boyle with the honorable mention.

Strals made a LOT of "quiet" plays (he was in front of Nabokov for Brassard's goal for example). Staal has been playing like a beast again. McD has now scored what, three or four goals from shots in his own zone? That's got to be close to a record, haha.

Kokoschka 01-31-2014 08:50 PM

That's all but the knock-out punch to the Isles playoff hopes.

What a game by Marc Staal. Really impressed me.

Boyle had a great game too.

Kinda meh the first two periods, got momentum after the PP and didn't look back.

LeetchisGod 01-31-2014 08:50 PM

Great win. Hank saved our bacon in that abomination of a second period.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:11 PM.
