First 2013 NHL draftee to be traded

Like the title says which 2013 first round draftee will be the first traded ? surely there's got to be a GM so desperate they'll trade their most recent first round pick

I think it will take awhile for anyone to be traded but if I had to make a guess I would say Curtis Lazar

herashak 02-17-2014 04:18 PM

ill say rychel

Skinnyjimmy08 02-17-2014 04:26 PM

Samuel Morin (among a lot more other pieces)in a blockbuster package to the Preds for Weber

yeah interesting choice but it would have to be an offer that blow Brian away big time considering hes stated that he wont trade Lazar. what made you pick Lazar ?

Soundgarden 02-17-2014 04:44 PM

Columbus and Calgary each had three, maybe one of their picks.

I think monahan and poirier are untradable right now but maybe klimchuk is used as a part of a package

He's just a guy that a lot of teams would love to have as a #2C .

Ret 02-17-2014 05:12 PM

I'll say Dickinson or Burakovsky.

Love 02-17-2014 05:16 PM

Erne after what he did to Drouin.

JetsHomer 02-17-2014 05:20 PM

Ryan Hartman when Chicago makes a move at a 2C

As stupid as a move that it was, we don't have anyone in the system that provides what Erne does.

Ottawa seems to think they got one of the top 5 players in the draft to hear them speak, so I doubt they will be trading.

Gigantor The Goalie 02-17-2014 05:26 PM

Who was the first players moved in the last couple drafts?

Filip Forsberg first one moved from the 2012 class.

Jesus Christ Horburn 02-17-2014 05:32 PM

Columbus trades Rychel at the deadline for a rental

First round only:

2012: Filip Forsberg
2011: Joe Morrow, Stefan Noesen
2010: Charlie Coyle, Nino Neiderreiter, Tyler Seguin
2009: Phillippe Paradis, Nick Leddy, Tim Erixon, Carter Ashton, David Rundblad, Zach Kassian, Brayden Schenn, Paajarvi-Svensson
2008: Luca Sbisa, Joe Colbourne, Nikita Filatov, Cody Hodgson, Jake Gardiner, Kris Beach, Luke Schenn, Greg Nemisz, Michael Del Zotto

IMO, I can see Rychel, and Hartman being moved at the deadline, a bit more of a stretch I'll say Horvat.

He is probably the least likely of anyone taken in the 2013 draft to get moved other than the top 4.

Canucks would move Horvat before the Flames would even think about thinking about trading Monahan.

Something you have to realize is that for the Canucks to move Horvat, it would have to be a return that is greater than what Cory Schneider is worth.

So essentially the Canucks would trade Horvat away for a Schneider + type of return. Even then its highly unlikely.

I believe Murray's contract is up either this summer or next summer, so he could feel pressure to make some moves to make the team into a contender soon so he can get an extension.
