Olli Jokinen the next home coming Panther?

He still has a house in Florida, is becoming a free agent and has played pretty well this year, 14+19 in 62 games. Do you think Olli could be an option to center the 3rd line next year?

Remove Flash from the point on the power play and insert Olli Jokinen. I'd do it.

FrolikFan67 03-05-2014 01:44 AM

i doubt it. if anything it would be the 3rd line with barkov and bjugstad on the top-2, but with pirri coming in and shore too i doubt we bring him in.

Dread Clawz 03-05-2014 02:06 AM

We don't need anymore centers, especially not old ones.

:shakehead no. He wasn't brought in when we could've used him, why now?? Get over him ever wearing a Panther jersey again.

Please no!!!! Enough with the rejects coming back for marketing purpose. Whats next? Weiss? Cause we were soooo successful while all of them where here.

2C position is already filled, which is the role he'd have to play to be useful.

Besides, Luongo left on better terms and no one really wanted him gone, apart from the management of course.

Luongo left on better terms than Jokinen? Jokinen didn't want to leave, he was traded away and moreover was emotionally distraught after what happened with Zednik. Don't act like he was Jay Bouwmeester, Jokinen liked being on the Panthers.

With that said, no he's not coming back and there's no room or point to that. Luongo is different. The Panthers goaltending situation was questionable at best (as good as Thomas can be, he's not making enough of a difference as a #1 and is NOT a long term solution).

Jovanovski was a mistake, but Luongo is a very different situation. This guy still has a lot to give. Jovo was done BEFORE we got him.

I want Ray Whitney back...probably just me...

Didn't Jokinen admittedly quit on the team because he didn't like Martin? I don't think that Jokinen left in better terms at all.

hockeydude1 03-05-2014 10:11 AM

Honestly, Jokinen hasn't played the same since that Zednik incidence. Sure he's gotten better but look at the stats. It's crazy.

Dr Beinfest 03-05-2014 10:32 AM

I don't think Jokinen would be a bad player to have on your team... I just don't think we need to pay for a center.

Yes, and agreed.

iam76 03-05-2014 10:37 AM

Mark Shef just hurt his mcl or acl... Olli is going nowhere.

FlaPnthrsPunk 03-05-2014 12:09 PM

A few years ago with the situation we were in before we drafted Barkov, didn't know what Bjugstad could bring us, etc, I would have said it's not a bad idea as I've always liked him. However, at this point in Olli's career, there is absolutely no reason for us to bring him back. We're set at Center better than any other position with Barkov, Bjugs, Pirri, and Shore down the middle.

Benched 03-05-2014 12:10 PM

No thanks. Don't need centers and Olli isn't very good anymore. Pass.

AwesomePanthers 03-05-2014 12:15 PM

Hell no.

Benched 03-05-2014 01:00 PM

He's close to retirement too.
