Stopped reading after Oilers pass on Ekblad.

That won't happen.

* I read on. The other one that stands out is the Canucks passing on Virtanen. Your a Canucks fan from Abbotsford and you have your team passing on Virtanen.

* I read the rest, looks really good.

The Ekblad thing I might be very wrong on, but for some reason I feel like MacT and his scouts will be in love with Draisaitl after his end to this season and if he has a solid playoffs. That was the only decision I was seriously hung up on

With the Virtanen thing, as a guy who went to his school, I just don't want him on the Canucks. They might like him, but I personally don't. On a player perspective, he's got the skills, but there have been a few consistency issues throughout the season and reported work ethic issues (which I totally believe)

Some notes:
  • Ekblad could easily be taken over Draisaitl, in which Buffalo would get Bennett and Draisaitl
  • Columbus is a good candidate if Nylander falls that far. I think Jarmo would select him
  • Pittsburgh might select a forward, but past drafts have suggested that Shero wants to solidify his defense
  • The Devils might select a winger with their 30th pick, considering it's a bigger need, but I think Lou might like a falling DeAngelo

Bold top 5 there.

MacT has told reporters that it's Ekblad or Draisaitl for the Oil so I don't disagree with us picking Leon if Ekblad is gone. I can't see him passing on Ekblad, he is not that stupid.

As for Virtanen who I've seen play live numerous times I think he is an absolute stud. He is a beast on the ice and is in my top 5. But I can see how opinions would differ.

I just don't see the Isles not deferring the pick to Buffalo until 2015 if it is top 4.

Don't think the Panthers would either.

I like the Rangers getting Tuch. Dude looks solid. Would've dreamed for Honka, though.

BStinson 03-17-2014 05:40 PM

It would be hard to turn down Virtanen, Fleury, and Nylander at the Wings position. Kempe is a stud but I would have personally gone for Virtanen or Fleury.

Mifroid 03-19-2014 07:57 PM

I'm fine with Pastrnak at 24. Nylander at 18 is pretty low. Why do you have him so low?

Even though the Wings' don't really need a defenseman, I'd be thrilled with that pick. He sounds intriguing.

Big fan of Theo Fleury growing up anyway.

I doubt Buffalo passes on Reinhart for Ehlers

Megaterio T Llamas 04-02-2014 07:23 AM

I like the idea of the Canucks passing on Virtanen. Too many lists have Vancouver taking Virtanen.
