In case you don't visit the prospect board...

Rumor has it the Kings signed Tambellini.

Honestly, Tambellini has nothing left to prove playing another season in the CCHA. He is ready to take the next step, and a full season in Manchester playing on one of the top two scoring units will benefit him more so than spending another season in Michigan.

And if this is true, Tambellini is going to be one of the best players (if not the best) on the Monarchs. I got to see plenty of Tambellini since I attended a University with a Division 1 CCHA team... he has an amazing shot that is deadly accurate and speed to burn.

He will be ready to turn pro real soon.

If this is true, this solidifies the fact that we need to make a deal.

So few spots, so many players.

What do you think ZiggyStardust, how many years in Manchester does Jeff need? One, two?

Ziggy Stardust 08-15-2005 04:20 PM

Difficult to say... but the way Tambellini plays, I think he can be ready in a season. He's already 21 and at the end of the season will be 22. He has all the tools to be a successful NHL player. With a lot of contracts expiring at the end of the season, I think it is possible for us to find Tambellini on the opening night roster for the 06-07 season.

If this rumor is true, Tambellini is going to have a very good year in Manchester. I'm just that confident in his abilities after watching him perform live for so long. He may appear to be undersized at under 6'0'' but he plays hard and is hardly a push over. He's difficult to knock off balance and strong on the puck. He was used on the point in powerplay situations. He was the main go-to-guy on the PP because of his shot.

I've gotten to see a lot of Tambellini because of our sports package, and one thing that impresses me a lot is the fact that he loves to shoot the puck and will shoot from all over the place.

That would be terrible overpayment. Hell Cammalleri for Witt alone is overpayment.

I don't understand the fascination with Witt. He's replaced Brad Isbister as the hottest commodity on a message board that is overvalued.

I know it is, it was a joke. I dont want us to deal for Witt. I think he's vastly overrated. Just because he's #1 d man on the worst team in the league, people seem to think that he'll be the same player on their team. He's a #3 at best, but more likely a #4-5.

Am i the only one who wants to see the 2003 line: Tambs - Boyle - Brown (That would be such an amazing line)

This rumor can basically be BS.

Could be, but if what he said is true, which is plausible, someone is going to have to be dealt. I dont see how we can fit in everyone in the few open spots that we have.

Ops...:D

Chartrand 08-15-2005 06:23 PM

I'll wait until Tambellini puts up numbers in the Pros before putting him on any top lines. Seems to be a very good player but the jump from NCAA to the AHL can be a tough one.
