Who Is Your Favourite Commentator In The NHL?

I would say Rick Jeanneret is one of the best, he just makes the game that much more exciting and is just a Beast.

Also I would have to say FLA has the absolute worse commentator and the Bruins have the biggest homer of a commentator.

Pierre Houde :sarcasm:

Claimed Off Waivers 04-01-2014 02:22 PM

Chris Cuthbert AINEC

RJ is a good local broadcaster, but he would get on the nerves of any non sabre fan.

In terms of national broadcasters? I dont like hughson as much as I used to. Nobody really stands out these days but if I had to pick, I guess I would go with Chris Cuthbert.

And I know I will get flack for this, but honorable mention to Bob Cole. Yes, he doesn't really know what is going on anymore, but he still has that voice, and I may be a bit biased for nostalgic reasons.

So yeah, let's go with Cuthbert

I still love hearing Hughson and Simpson, still awesome to watch games with them and they remind me of playing the older NHL's like 04 and stuff. But to me, I rather listen to RJ over Randorf when they play the Habs.

Jrham15 04-01-2014 02:29 PM

Bob cole.

Bob Cole....and its not even close, to being close.

QuebecPride 04-01-2014 02:31 PM

Doc Emrick, or the Red wings one.

Yea Doc when watching Devils games was fun. Also Bob Cole was great for years when watching CBC Hockey Night In Canada. Too bad he's a Leafer though.

ZARTONK 04-01-2014 02:40 PM

Pierre Houde, but only because I don't really watch hockey anywhere other than on RDS.

jwolf 04-01-2014 02:42 PM

I'd have to go with Gord Miller. When paired with McGuire, they're probably the best in the business. Cuthbert would be my 2nd choice.

I'm pretty sure Cole was a habs fan. He just got stuck with the leafs because that's where hnic puts their #1 guy.

Its not as if hughson was a leafs fan, but he's the #1 guy

I think Cole and Neale are big time leaf fans. And Hughson was a Canucks fan.

Hullois 04-01-2014 02:52 PM

Pierre Houde in French

Bob Cole in English.

During the playoffs I'll switch to CBC over Pierre Houde if Cole is calling the games. That voice...

sheed36 04-01-2014 02:53 PM

I still love listening to Bob Cole call a game so I'll go with him as my favorite.. Chris Cuthbert is a close second though.

Godzilla 04-01-2014 02:53 PM

I watch RDS because of Bob Cole. :sarcasm:

the guy who calls for NBC (he usually does flyers mostly) and goes like GIROUX SCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWREEEEEEEEEEEEES

Timelord 04-01-2014 03:11 PM

It is now Mitch Melnick after dissing his bosses with an open mike gaffe today (something like "I'm tired of raving about the new studio while they strut around the halls".) I was listening via online stream.

I don't think it was an April Fools joke, and he said "S#&%" at the end when he realized what happened. If it was a joke it was very well acted.

DJ Breadman 04-01-2014 03:15 PM

Don't have one there are none, some are worse then others, they just ruin the game for me, in recent years I have taken to listening to music during games or watching on rds in french which is a language I don't understand

FrontierPsyCHiatrist* 04-01-2014 03:21 PM

The Dallas duo. Very funny & natural guys.

Demon Wolf 04-01-2014 03:29 PM

Doc Emrick is good, I also quite like the Sharks and Dallas commentators.

Adriatic 04-01-2014 03:41 PM

Bob Cole.
