Nice deal.

ottawahabs 06-17-2014 11:09 AM

25 stanley was right then! Happy about the deal, hilarious so many people were complaining after the Diaz trade.

TT1 06-17-2014 11:09 AM

good deal, i was expecting him to get closer to 1.5M

A1 06-17-2014 11:10 AM

That awkward moment when you get a TSN notification at the top of your iPhone screen saying the Canadiens resigned a two year deal for a forward and his name is cut off and you frantically open the window and say "not Gionta not Gionta please not Gionta"

FinnHab 06-17-2014 11:10 AM

He earned that. Work horse!

Gointa for 1m would be an insane bargain

Good job to 25Stanley and JTUtah. Great signing! I always doubt when we rush in signing 4th liners (like the "great" Gainey signatures la Garth Murray and Aaron Downey...), but this guy is worth it.

Good job MB. Great to have you here for 2 years Dale! :yo:

Runner77 06-17-2014 11:14 AM

Props to 25Stanley.

Arpon does the right thing and gives him props:

Props to these guys, who had this almost 24 hours ago RT @25stanley: #Habs Dale Weise signs 2 years - 2M$

btallett 06-17-2014 11:15 AM

Awesome deal! Weise was rock solid for us in the playoffs. 1m per too! GJ Bergevin

WeThreeKings 06-17-2014 11:15 AM

Good deal. Good trade.

MathMan 06-17-2014 11:15 AM

Good deal. Weise is strictly a fourth-liner but a pretty strong one and getting a guy who can be a regular at 1M per on a short-term deal is good.

HiggsBozon 06-17-2014 11:15 AM

We oughta take 25Stanley seriously I guess now... It's been a couple of deals. Though I think you can safely assume it's Prust's girlfriend who probably had an idea since Weise knew it was about to get done and probably let it know to his teammates.

My only worry is that they expect him to play a third line role at some point.

Contract is great.

Andy 06-17-2014 11:16 AM

Good deal.

PricePkPatch 06-17-2014 11:16 AM

Awesome. Bridge contract as well, sweet 2 years, low-cost, with even more opportunities to prove himself as a permanent fixture on our team.

He obviously loves playing for us, and he loves to be given the chance to make the difference. Perfect 4th liner who can be given some time on the Top-9 on a need basis.

TSN notification just said 2 year extension, no $ numbers.

Draft 06-17-2014 11:16 AM

Right on, I expected him to sign for more.

With ~6 less minutes per game and in less games, Weise matched Bourque's regular season production of 16pts.
