Any Warriors fans excited about the NBA Preseason? Lakers will host them at STAPLES Center on October 9, 7:30 PM Pacific.

They have options in Oakland, Wolff hasn't been willing to explore those. Clorox and Jamba Juice have both said they are willing to help finance a stadium in the Jack London Square area. It can be done, I just hope Wolff can quit being so stubborn and make it work, because the A's are likely the only team that will still be in Oakland in 5 years (just my opinion based on Mark Davis' words).

This is unarguably the only time in Lew Wolff's ownership of the A's where his purported cheapness is actually helping the team for once. What is he waiting for, more luxury tax welfare from the Yankees? :shakehead

Also, if the Raiders were to stay, would Cal Memorial Stadium be an option? Last I checked, Oakland Coliseum has its own dedicated BART station.

Clowe Me 07-09-2014 10:49 PM

Yankees don't have to spend to the point that they have to pay luxury tax, you know.

The A's payroll has gone up 30 million from a couple of years ago and they just took on a guy who will probably get 15 mil next year in arbitraition (Samardzija). Don't forget the 10 mil they're currently paying Jim Johnson to sit and not pitch because he sucks.

Yes, Wolff is cheap, but don't act like they aren't putting money into the A's.

Wolff wanting to move to.SJ.

Balls that were falling for the A's the last 6 games went the Giants way last night.

rangerssharks414 07-10-2014 08:31 PM

Josh Donaldson will join Yoenis Cespedes in the home run derby if you guys care about such a thing.

I just hope it doesn't mess up thei 2nd half swings.

Graveland 07-11-2014 12:40 AM

May the A's live forever.

i really don't buy that whole "home run derby messes up your swing" thing

cespedes was definitely fine after last year's derby and with the way donaldson has swung the bat the last month or so, maybe a change in swing might be a good thing

Well, players have blamed it on their 2nd half failures in the past. I haven't been in any derby's myself, so I don't know.

Kinda a **** situation for them but if their stadium gets demolished I just don't see another option. They can't go to San Jose because of the Giants and Oakland wouldn't pay for a new stadium for them. Maybe they could go to Sacramento? I really don't know.

Haven't watched a full game of Giants baseball in 2 weeks. I see I haven't missed a thing.

Why don't just Lew Wolff take the offer from the Oakland Coalition of Kaiser Permanente, Clorox, and other SF East Bay companies? At least he's not shouldering any expense whatsoever for a new baseball stadium in Oakland city limits. :naughty: Even better, the naming rights can go directly to the price tag of the proposed new stadium.

LeBron going back to Cleveland. Honestly, I'm happy for Cleveland. That city has been tortured beyond belief when it comes to pro sports. They deserve to have something good happen to them for once.

Whatever, they had Major League.

Just trade for Love already. Wolves need to realize they won't get much better then what the warriors have.

Wiggins would be a better return for them.
