So how many goals will Gagne score this year?

I think with the new rules and playing with Forsberg Gagne could really light it up this year. But how many goals will he score?

Sniperz25 09-17-2005 10:12 PM

41

I'm thinking in the area of 33-35.

Carter will still score more though. *knocks on wood*

Haha

I'd be very happy if Carter scored 25 goals 55 points or so.

If Forsberg played 70 games with Gagne, I think he could score around 40, assuming that the league leaders are at around 50 this season.

More than Williams.

50 in 39

I'll be happy with a 30 to 40 goal total.

like Brad said, Forsberg is the key. if Forsberg stays healthy, I think Gagne's numbers could be off the charts.

I will say 45 goals this year for Gags.

Is that sarcasm? or do you really believe Gagne can put up 70 goals?

I could see guys like Naslund go closer 60, but not 70. Never know these days, lot depends how referees will do their job. :dunno:

70 is too much, for anyone right now.

Gags1288 09-18-2005 06:02 PM

I honestly think he'll approach 50. The game is going to be a bit more open, the goalies pads are smaller, and most importantly teams are going to have a ton of PP's. I expect scoring to be significantly up, but I also expect that Gagne will be in the top 10 goal scorers, maybe even approach the top 5. This is the year Gagne breaks out and combines his elite defensive play with his offensive ability.

As for Carter vs. Gagne, I actually wouldn't be surprised to see Carter out scoring Gagne in 2 years. This year I highly doubt it and next year probably not, but after that Carter is going to score a lot of goals in this league.

FearTheFlyers 09-18-2005 06:13 PM

I siad 40. These are some incredible expectations, but I think he can deliver.

ProctorSilex 09-18-2005 06:22 PM

35 give or take a couple.

Gert B Frobe 09-18-2005 07:37 PM

I'm going to say 41 goals. That's a lot for a player coached by Hitchcock. He could score more on other less defensive minded teams.
