Noah Welch?

What do you think he'll develop into? A tough defenceman that can get 30 points a year? I don't hear a lot about him, but he seems to be one of the best defencemen in collage hockey.

He is my preseason pick for ECAC POTY. I think he will be a Hobey finalist. Contributes well at both ends but is further along defensively. Plays with an edge. His skating is pretty good at this level but needs to continue developing at the NHL level. 30 points is a reasonable upside but very reachable for Welsh.

IMHO, he is one of the best Dmen in the NCAA. He made great strides in his offensive game last season and as a result it made him not only a better player but a more well-rounded player.

30 points....are you referring to the NCAA level when he reaches the pros, specifically NHL? 30 points in college should be well within Welch's reach. At the pro level? It's hard to say at this point, except to say that if he continues to develop/get better, he could eventually.

ttnorm: I agree with you on him being a great candidate for ECAC POTY. However, he'll definitely have some competition in that department, including a couple from his own team. ;-)
