Well, I've heard that the Canandiens were going to made last cut today nut I think that Bob have until wednesday to give the 23 starting roster sheet! That's what BG said to Radio-canada when he was talking about Bégin and Langdon:

"Même s'il est convaincu que ces deux joueurs seront en mesure de jouer avec l'équipe dès leur arrivée, Gainey ne leur a offert aucune assurance en ce sens. «Comme tous les autres, ils seront en compétition pour obtenir le privilège de disputer les matchs. Au plus tard mercredi prochain, je devrai soumettre ma liste de 23 joueurs qui commenceront la saison à Montréal. J'aurai alors d'autres décisions à prendre.»"

I thought it was today, too. It seems to me that everyone has to declare thier final rosters today.

These players seem the most likely to be cut.

1- Chris Higgins
2- Tomas Plekanec
3- Ron Hainsey
4- Gordie Dwyer
5- Andreas Dackell

Jeffrey 10-06-2003 10:21 AM

ok just 4 fun ...
IMO it's more like:
1- Plekanec
2- Higgins
3- Dackell
4- Hainsey
5- Komisarek
dwyer stay until kilger is ready...

Yup, he sure can dump the puck from his offensive zone, from his defensive zone, from center ice and even when he's on the bench... It's the only thing he did last year..

Probably

1)Plekanec
2)Higgins
3)Dwyer
4)Hainsey
5)Komisarek

gohabsgo2010 10-06-2003 01:20 PM

Gainey has stated on CKAC that the final cuts will be tomorrow, October 7th. :)

Don’t one of either Komi or Hainsey have to make the team?

Markov Rivet
Breezey Souray
Quintal Bouillon

That’s only 6 and I’m pretty sure we’ll carry 7 d-men. Also Bouillon has bruised ribs right now and I’m not sure what his status is but we might see both Hainsey and Komi around for a bit yet if Bouillon can't play.

Freaky Habs Fan 10-06-2003 01:44 PM

It would be a BIG deception for me if Komi leave to Hamilton. I think he have to play. He's ready for prime time action.

I think the five remaining cuts will be Dwyer, Higgins, Hainsey, Plekanec and Juneau.

What would let Plekanec, Higgins, Hainsey, Komisarek another chance to prove what they can bring to the team!

A week or so later, and those guys will be in Hamilton.

Both Jason Ward and Michael Ryder will be in the NHL to begin the 2003-04 season, there is no other option for Montreal. Both youngsters need to clear waivers in order to return to AHL Hamilton. The possibility of the AHL's two premier players passing through the waiver wire is none. Jason Ward and Michael Ryder have made the team, man! Tell your friends, tell your teachers, tell your mailman ; if Ward is waived, he will no longer be playing for the Canadiens.

Your right about Ward and Ryder. Do you really think that Atlanta who are really desperate for forward those day will let pass 2 young guy with cheap contract and offensive upside pass on the waiver like that? Not one in a million. Ward and Ryder will start the season here OR they will get trade in last resort but forget Hamilton for them.

The article says that they 'could' place all 5 of them on the injuried list and not have to make any cuts. It doesnt say that they did place them on the inuried list.

Oh. Ward in a Thrashers' jersey. Let me wish!

(as ******** said, no chance they risk Ward thru waivers ; I still can't believe the stunt they put up last year with Garon, and still can't believe he got thru)
