Forget Willy, Free aneirin!!!!

Place ain't the same without the cranky old bard and his raging keyboard of condescension..

I'm admittingly ingnorant on what caused his, ahem, sabbatical, but with the puck dropping in 3 days, we need all hands on deck..

I'm a fan of G's as well, so I don't want to see this turn into a "bash the G-man" thread, I'd just like to see a smart, knowledgeable Ranger fan, and pretty funny dude back on board...

All right, all right. I'll vote for him to come back. We may hardly ever agree on any issue (hockey or non-hockey) and while he can come of as condesating, he is a long-time member of our little community.

I'm with you guys. And the scary part is I actually agreed with a lot of things he talked about. Must be the old age aspect.

Free aneirin!!!

klingsor 10-08-2003 09:32 AM

I agree but I think aneirin may prefer the hemlock.

Kodiak 10-08-2003 10:02 AM

Is aneirin really banned? I thought a first offense just earned you a 3-day vacation from the boards. If that's true in this case, then klingsor may be right.

Laches 10-08-2003 10:10 AM

Whoa, wait, what have I missed? Aneirin banned? I haven't been posting myself lately as life went and got all busy on me. What did he do? I've been reading him for 5 seasons now, going back to the ESPN board before it was taken over by trolls. He's one of the greats, we need him back.

I believe he went into one of the more politically-charged threads in the lounge and said the G Man was being a Cato. In all honesty, he did have a point at the time.

But yeah, aneirin should come back.

According to my mod powers, it says aneirin is no longer banned. His ban must have been lifted or ended.

True.. He is as stubborn as he is smart, so if he's reading this, he's probably calling me all sorts of names..

He don't need no stinkin' petition..

Well TS pal, we'd like ya' back anyways!

come back Aneirin! It's just not the same

Davisian 10-08-2003 10:49 AM

As Guru pointed out above, and SBOB let me know, his ban wasn't permanent, and now is self imposed..

So let's turn this into a "bust aneirin's chops" thread, and he's sure to come back for retorts and coffee!!!

That's easy. Aneirin, if you're reading this, know that anarchism cannot truly work and that George Bush is king.
That should be sufficiently insulting to him.

Does that make Arnold the Prince of Darkness? Inquiring minds need to know!

No silly, he wasn't born an American, so he can't rise to that throne..

He can, however, take a cabinet position as Minister of Humvee relations, and Secretary of dis-information.

aneirin must still be hurting after this election.. I heard he was Gary Coleman's campaign manager..

Oh come now. That state made Ronald Reagan governor. Can we really be surprised that 48% of the populace found an Austrian-born-steroid-totin'-Kurt-Waldheim-lovin'-C-rated-actor was more qualified than over 100 other people who wanted the job?

People really do get the government they deserve.

As for aneirin, maybe he can compromise by returning under a new identity. How about something wildly different like, say, taliesin?

Or in honor of klingsor, perhaps simply: Socrates.

taliesin's just too, umm, organic, and socrates is too played..

Maybe "Cato's Bane" would do...?...!...

Well I kinda dig the whole literary thingie he's got going with his current identity. Is "Durin's Bane" a reasonable compromise?

Aaaaiiiiiiieeee! A balrog is come!

It does seem as though aneirin may have "delved too deep"..

No, but a Prince non-the-less

"Maybe "Cato's Bane" would do...?...!..."

I think Faust may be appropriate.

Fitzlax99 10-08-2003 12:12 PM

Jesus I have been out of touch...

Can someone enlighten me to why Aenirin was banned? He's a stubborn pain in the ass at times but I've never know him to be offensive...

Ah Laches, bringing up the old ESPN boards brings back so many memories...

Ranger Wolf 10-08-2003 01:18 PM

Yes, come back aneirin. If anything, you kept our discussions very interesting.

Lundyfan 10-08-2003 01:31 PM

I'm in Minnesota on vacation, I didn't realize he had been banned. I hope he'll come back. :(

Bird Law 10-09-2003 05:54 AM

I didn't even see he was banned. I thought you generally saw the word "banned" next to the avatar and it was lifted once the 3-day period was up... Hum.

Either way, he's been one of my favorite posters ever, so he ought to come back.

He is no longer on the member list (check page 4 of the A's).

All his posts and threads are gone. I can't even find him as a guest.

He probably deleted his account.

Here's the thread that led to aneirin's decision to leave. Portions of some of his posts in this thread only appear as quotes in other people's posts. (He followed this with a Zolaian "J'accuse" thread that has been deleted.) The first one is post #45:

HFBoards - White house leaks CIA operative info
Address:http://www.hfboards.com/showthread.p...hlight=aneirin

It would be unfair to come to any conclusions about his arguments as they are not fully represented by the partial quotes.
