Is Todd Bertuzzi a chronic dipper?

In other words, is he addicted to chewing tobacco? :p
When I'd see him during post-game interviews with the lump below his lower lip I'd always assume that's what it was.
But last season my friend told me that he has had teeth knocked out before and that he now wears a bridge which causes his gums to puff-out in that manner. For some reason I was immediately skeptical of this.
Does anyone know what the real reason behind Todd's lump is?

Yes he does chew Tobacco, why I do not know but I guess everyone has their bad habits :p

I'm also pretty sure he's missing his bottom couple teeth too though

but yes, he usually has a dip in during post game interviews

In junior hockey thats how players join together as a team, go out fater a game, and have a dip, younger players usually start to get to be part of the group, type thing...Bert probably picked it up during junior hockey

He has to keep his 'bad boy' image in tact for the viewing public.

Speaking of his 'bad boy' image, did anybody catch his interview in Wednesday's Vancouver Sun?

Q: What's the dumbest question a reporter has ever asked you?
A: The question you just asked.

It was great!

My dad says Todd Bertuzzi is the player Brian Burke wishes he was.

I think most people who've tried chew did that. I chewed all through-out my senior year of highschool and then just gave it up. I mostly stuck to just Skoal and Copenhagen, but then one of my friends but this long-cut, stringy stuff that you were supposed to chew, it was nasty. It didn't help that it tasted like raisins and I hate raisins. That was the last of tobacco for me. :)

I know I play junior hockey, and lots do it, not me I can't stand it, I will prefer just to chew gum any day.

He better knock it off unless he wants to risk cancer. It's one of the easiest ways to get it (chewing all the time)... the stuff is nasty. Nothing pisses me off more than some putz who leaves the spit cup / bottle laying around. Might as well take a leak on the floor too while you're at it....

Tobacco is absolutely disgusting. Out of 18 guys on my baseball team, probably 13 or 14 chew semi-regularly. I am one of the few who doesn't.

Just gross.
