We all know how good he is offensively, but man...

He has made some really good plays back on defense this year. There could very well be some Selke trophies in his future, especially if he keeps making strides like he has in his own end.

Maybe playing defense for the Czech Republic in roller hockey during the summer had something to do with it.

Early last season I was nervous when he was near the puck in the Oiler end. This year it's like I want him to have the puck because if the pass isn't there he will just carry it out.

He really makes it look easy.
