Predators Media Thread

Since the Preds have become such a hot media topic as of late... :yo:...thought maybe we could start a thread to keep them all in one place ...maybe even a sticky

First one from Allan Muir at SI.com...pretty good read if you can get throught the first two paragraphs.

sticky granted...two things....

1. Let's keep all the links to articles and whatnot here, rather than starting a new thread for each batch(cough, seamus, cough ;) )

2. Let's keep it updated. If it falls to disuse, it will meet an early extinction ;)

More Predator Love from the National Media

Predators' Hot Start Isn't a Fluke by Shawn P. Roarke FOXSports.com

"Nashville has balanced scoring, with stars Steve Sullivan (12 points) and Paul Kariya (10 points) leading the way. Thirteen different players have already scored for Nashville this season, and 16 have points. Emerging stars Scott Hartnell (eight points) and David Legwand (seven points) have two game-winning goals apiece early in the campaign, proving they are ready to assume roles as go-to guys.

Defensively, five of their defenseman, including impressive rookie Ryan Suter, have even or plus-plus/minus ratings. Suter, who is logging more than 16 minutes per game, has four assists and a plus-5 rating."

Channel 2's John Dwyer latest blog is about the Predators:

Nice piece on Hartnell.

"Scott's a little rough around the edges, but that's what makes him unique is that he is hard to play against,'' Trotz said. "When he tries to get a little cute, he's not as effective. But when he plays that power game with a little reckless abandon, he's really effective.''

Amen, Trotzy.

Roenick Is No Two-Timer in Win

"I said there has to be a God up there that's going to be on my side one time," Roenick said. "I didn't make any second-effort shot. I didn't hit it twice.

I came down, I went to my backhand, right back to my forehand, I lost an edge and tried to stuff it in. As I stuffed it in, it hit his pad and the puck went in at the same time."

Nashville North

Quote:

Our snide comments about the Predators a week ago were rebuffed by readers who turned around the criticism of Nashville's early-season schedule by comparing it to the Red Wings' performance.
Quote:

Before you begin to criticize the Nashville Predators' schedule please consider that the Red Wings have also feasted on cupcakes," a reader writes. "It seems a little hypocritical to criticize Nashville for poor competition when Detroit has taken the same route."

And yet, when they were called out for their original snide comments, they couldn't help but make more.

Does anyone else find it odd that the day this thread started (10-28) we had just lost our first game (10-26), and have now lost 5 in a row?

Hmm...maybe there really is something to this whole, "Reading our own press." :help:
