GDT: Nashville @ LA (game 13) 11/5 3:00 CST

well... the preds go into this one banged up pretty bad...into a place where we didn't score a goal last year, and where we've been shutout something like 5 of our last 8 trips to... against a team we have never played well against, in fact the team we have our overall worst record against..with us on a losing streak and them playing well

sullivan(groin), hall(ankle) both listed as doubtful..walker definitely out, probably for at least another week and 4-5 more games.. coach horachek at home with an ailing dad...

no one recalled to replace sully/hall... so it means everyone will dress, allison as a 7th dman/4th line forward.. means that both gamache and upshall will get some of that 2nd/3rd line time..

lineups will probably look like this to start out;

kariya-leggy-erat
gamache-perreault-harts
stevenson-johnson-upshall
hordichuk-nichol-

certainly nothing like we would want...this is a game you flat absolutely are going to have to find a way to win on special teams...

I was miffed as to why the Preds couldn't score goals, but after watching a bunch more games since our losing streak began....its easy to pinpoint.

We don't cycle, and we don't go to the net. Other teams aren't as fast as us, but they play just as fast because they use their speed as an asset. We still aren't using that speed as an asset, and conversely, we can't score. The only time we are really utilizing our speed is SH.

Trotz and Poile need to address this.

quiet this morning i see,so i'll add a little to the pregame stuff..

LA is a really strong even strength team...rated 4th in the league in even strength goals for/ goals allowed ratio.. their pp has struggled some like ours and has been mediocre, while their pk has also been like ours, solid for much of the year

LA has an unusual goals scored by period...20 in the first, 20 in the 2nd, but only 8 in the third..while the 3rd has been our strongest period generally...

a game you feel we need to win on special teams, stay close early and beat them late..

Looks like we are not the only one's who are down man-power wise:

"Kings are becoming thin on forwards, especially their high-end variety.

Bure is out indefinitely and Luc Robitaille is on injured reserve at least another three weeks because of a broken right leg. Derek Armstrong is out with a strained groin but is expected to be in the lineup Wednesday when the Kings play Detroit, according to Coach Andy Murray.

To make matters worse, Craig Conroy suffered an "upper body injury" against Phoenix on Thursday and was examined by doctors Friday. Murray said Conroy looked "promising" for today's game against Nashville. Jeremy Roenick has been playing with a few nagging health problems.

That group accounts for five of what the Kings projected as their top nine forwards when training camp began. "

A lot of that has to do with getting a lead (who wouldn't with 40 goals over two periods) and holding onto it in the 3rd, but it's true that if the Preds can get the lead heading into the 3rd, themselves, then they have a really good shot at maintaining it for the victory.

The Kings are coming off of their worst game of the season Thursday in Phoenix, a 4-0 shutout by the Dogs. Even without some scorers, the Predators are still a better team than the Coyotes, so I see no reason why the Preds can't duplicate what the Yotes did. They need to be careful, though, and assert themselves early, since the Kings are likely to be energized to make up for that performance of theirs. If the Preds play hard early and maintain it the entire game, they'll have a great shot to walk away with two points. The first 10 minutes could really dictate how the game will end up (as it did in Phoenix).
