Fukufuji & Lehoux to play for Monarchs tonight (11/26/05)

During the pre-game broadcast Monarchs coach Jim Hughes confirmed Fukufuji will start tonight. Also expected in the lineup is Lehoux. He will center Clarke and Tukonen on the second scoring unit and see time on the PP as well...

That's good about him centering the 2nd scoring unit. I was a little afraid that someone would stick it to Lehoux and put him on one of the bottom lines. Hopefully, he'll put up numbers and prove himself so as to get the opportunity to center Tambellini eventually. That could be explosive.

That's not how Hubie and Hughes operate. They are very good at separating the business side (contract negotiations) of things from the game side. If Lehoux slacks, they'll kick his ***.

Good luck to these guys :yo:

1 goal in 4 games with San Antonio and 2 goals in 2 periods with Manchester. Yotes fans aren't gonna like this much.

San Antonio doesn't have a kid named Tambellini setting guys up... ;)

Hopefully people finally start believing D.A.R.E. and I on how good this kid is.

One kinda-bad season playing with a broken wrist and everyone was ready to write him off.

Great job our kids tonight! It looks like Lehoux was a major spark to our offense.

Osprey 11-26-2005 09:38 PM

Fukufuji with 37 saves on 40 shots! Not bad for a skinny guy.

Grebeshkov with 3 assists!

Good way for Lehoux to start his Manchester return. I was a bit concerned that he'd grip his stick hard for the first few games and struggle a little.

Yotes fans may not like this much, but imagine when Lehoux lights up San Antonio ;)

There he goes! I KNEW the guy was holding out on the 'Yotes. Then again, nothing can really be proven either way.

Kick 11-26-2005 11:19 PM

Spoke briefly with Lehoux as the guys were boarding the bus for the trip home. Congratulated him on his game and welcomed him back. Yanick said he was "glad to be back".

So, how spectacular was Fuku last night with his 37 saves? Were fans oooooing and aaahhing, or were most just your basic save?

Tough to say, it was a road game. Mr Ken48 was at the game and will probably be able to offer a bit...

I wouldn't call it "spectacular" but very solid. He had excellent positioning and didn't give up many rebounds. He couldn't be faulted on any of the 3 goals he let in and was supported by his team mates as they came back and gave hip taps on the pads when Springfield did score. Saw him after the game, congratulated him and he gave us a great big smile and a "thank you". You could tell he was on cloud 9.

woodbutcher 11-27-2005 01:30 PM

Congrats to Fuki on his first AHL win! :highclap: It was a pleasure watching this kid progress here in Bako, sure do miss him and James this year! He improves with every start...glad to hear he is controlling his rebounds better...go get' em kiddo!
