For Gomez?
Yeah, I'd probably be satisfied with that. The longer this drags on the more it'll affect the team. We gotta think about the big picture here.

If I had the choice between Gomez or Lundmark and a 1st rounder, I'd actually take the Lundmark one. I'm just not completely impressed with Gomez, and I think the last thing the Oilers need is another playmaker, especially when giving up goals (or at least goal potential) in Comrie.

There are at least a couple of players in Detroit I wouldn't mind seeing Lowe pry out somehow.

Yeah, I've read that there are rumors going around with the Wings, the Devils, the Rangers, and the Thrashers.

A Devils spokesperson squashed the Comrie for Gomez rumors...and the Rangers don't really need another center. The Wings have some good young players that they can offer (even though Wings fans will cry bloody murder about it), and the Thrashers need some offense after the Heatley incident.

I think Gomez would be a decent return considering the longer this drags on, the more the Oilers will struggle on offense, but you're right, they do need a few more sniping centers in the lineup...and off the top of my head, I can't really think of one from Atlanta or Detroit.

The kind of deal I would LOVE to see if the little guy is off to Detroit is something like so:

Comrie and Cross
FOR
Fischer and a 2nd (maybe a 1st but not likely)

It bolsters our blue line, makes room for Fischer and the pick will be later in the round but still a solid player. From Detroit's end it gives them a solid vet for the 6/7 role or as injury insurance.

My 2 cents...

Comrie for David Hale and a 2nd
