who would you want on a penalty shot with the game on the line?

i ask because i have never seen Kovalchuk miss on a breakaway. and he goes 5-hole evey time! i don't like the kid but he is automatic while in alone as far as i have seen.

Looger 10-13-2003 01:56 PM

mike modano.

creative, fast, and unpredictable.

Operation Free Point

I hate him but......Forsberg. An absolute guiness with the puck.

Face Wash 10-13-2003 01:59 PM

Not Esa Pirnes apparently... :joker:

Yeah if he gets one this Wednesday...he should just pass on it. Fluery plain out embrassed him.

Sucks being a Kings fan during those moments.

Trust me!

:teach: Naslund........that guy has all kinds of slippery moves and can pick any corner he wants.

Missionhockey 10-13-2003 02:02 PM

On the Devils its Niedermayer.

Overall I'd say Pavel Bure. Bure isn't just automatic he makes it look easy. Too bad he can't bend his knee.

Canadian Chris 10-13-2003 02:06 PM

Mario
Naslund
Modano
Bertuzzi(even though he usually goes backhand and shelf over the glove hand)
Forsberg
Kovalchuk
Sakic.....

Kovalchuk - closest thing to Pavel Bure who was the best.

SwedenRulez 10-13-2003 02:10 PM

Both Marian Hossa and Ilya Kovalchuk have an execptionnal scorer instinct

Hossa 10-13-2003 02:10 PM

Considering Pavel Bure hasn't officially retired yet, Bure.

Psycho Papa Joe 10-13-2003 02:13 PM

Nobody is better one on one than Mario.

Enoch 10-13-2003 02:14 PM

Sakic

Funny. I always sort of thought of Forsberg as more of a Pilsner...

Agreed. The only player in my lifetime that's even close to Lemieux on a breakaway was a healthy Pavel Bure.

or
Bondra

"Here comes Pavel Bure on Mike Richter (bure skates in and shoots).. SAVE BY RICHTER!!!"

Id take Kovalchuk. The next Bure.

Histrion 10-13-2003 04:41 PM

Gimme Mario. That shot between the legs always seems to work for him, eh!

Until Bure retires/accidently severs an apendage I'll go with him.

DevilFisch 10-13-2003 04:43 PM

The goal scoring machine, Jay Pandolfo.

Seriously, I'd want Mario Lemieux to take a penalty shot.

Randall Graves* 10-13-2003 04:47 PM

If im a goalie? Esa Pirnes :D

If its to win the game?Mario,Steve Yzerman or Sergei Fedorov.
