Quote:

Peter Forsberg did not skate yesterday but went through agility drills. "He felt much better," trainer Jim McCrossin said. Forsberg will likely go on the ice today to see if he can play tonight against the New Jersey Devils, but it seemed more likely the Flyers would give him additional rest so he could return Saturday in Nashville... . Turner Stevenson (pulled hip muscle) reported less discomfort but did not skate. Saturday would be the earliest he could play.

It says "projected", the only thing i have read is this:

Lion, that is a kick-*** GDT. :handclap:

Lord ZipLock 11-30-2005 12:16 PM

Amazing GTD-good job lotn.

Brooklyndevil 11-30-2005 12:20 PM

If the Devils want to regain a bit of their old swagger, they need a solid effort and beat you guys, especially, with the current Flyer injuries.

CharlieGirl 11-30-2005 12:22 PM

According to the folks at O&B, Eager has been called up to play tonight.

GoneFullHolmgren 11-30-2005 12:35 PM

the Devils really didnt look that good last night the 2nd period aside. they were very fortunate when Green got tossed out of that critical faceoff that lead to the GWG.
If the Devils come out like that again tonite, i would expect the Flyers to take it to them.

swflyers8* 11-30-2005 12:51 PM

I am sort of worried that Eager is going to take a lot of dumb penalties, he has a habit of doing that.

Added him to the lineup. :)

Eager is probably going to take atleast two minor penalties for late hits and other business. I'm excited to see how he holds up.

In other news I'm really nervous about Ryan Ready. Not necessarily his health but the type of injury he sustained. It really shows how tempermental groin injuries can be. It's a good thing that Forsberg isn't back because he doesn't need to risk reinjuring it.

TheKingPin 11-30-2005 01:58 PM

I think Esche will play very well today. Any one remeber when we had the chance to get CuJo

ZadorovNJD* 11-30-2005 02:03 PM

Best. GDT. Ever.

pelts35.com 11-30-2005 02:11 PM

Have to agree with Vinnie. Great work Lion.

Needless to say, I'm disappointed that Niittyamaki may not get the start tonight. He has fared very well against the Devils in the past and Esche wasn't what I would call brilliant against the Isles. In fact, some would say that the refs bailed him out at the 1 second mark last night.

As for the Eager callup, they are running out of guys to call up. Did Ben Stafford really need to go to medical school that badly? Where's Mark Greig, Peter White, etc when you need them?

It will be a tight game, but I think the Devils win this one 4-3.

Kafka 11-30-2005 02:26 PM

I think Niitty will get the start. One of the reasons you have two goaltenders on your roster is to allow them to sit down once when you have 2 games within 27 hours... Hitch made the error of letting Niitty start it twice at the beginning of the week after sitting on the bench for two weeks.... can't believe he will make the same error now with Esche. :shakehead

Thanks, appreciate that :)

Feedback is also appreciated ;) there are always some small things that people feel could be better.

Eager to impress

So tonight appears to be his debut in the show and what better team play against in your first game than the devils. It must have finally donned on Hitch that with Foppa gone it is easier to pay attention to Gags and therefore punish him alnight muck like Asham and others did quite regularly last night.
So with Ben in the lineup tonight, the pressure on Brash (wasn't it sad to see him with the visor on) to try to do the job will be off. I suspect it will be a rough game but we will have the toughness required to standup to the likes of White and Marshall tonight. Enjoy everyone this -should be a good one. Philly 4-1.

GKJ 11-30-2005 03:25 PM

i'll be there :yo:

Meatwad 11-30-2005 03:27 PM

Nice GDT, the player pics are great

Roger's Pancreas* 11-30-2005 03:32 PM

Great job LOTN.

UPCOMING MILESTONES: Ken Hitchcock needs one win to become the seventh head coach to reach the 100 win mark with the Philadelphia Flyers. Chris Therien needs one game to pass Gary Dornhoefer's previous mark of 726 games played by a Flyers, which would put him at number 7 all-time.
