"In reaching a determination as to how best to deal with this unique and extraordinary set of circumstances, our first consideration was fairness to our fans. We did not think it fair to ask them to come out again for only 47 minutes of regulation hockey," said Colin Campbell, NHL Executive Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations. "However, in light of the circumstances that led to the termination of play on Nov. 21, and after consultation with both teams, we also have decided that the rescheduled contest will begin with the Predators ahead, 1-0. A goal will be credited to Greg Johnson, with assists to Ryan Suter and Scottie Upshall. All other statistics will be expunged."

a full 60 minute game? ... what kind of BS is that :shakehead

Pred303 12-02-2005 05:24 PM

personally i think it's a fair and equatable solution...doesn't deprive fans of a full game...gives us the goal we earned... will make for a very interesting back to back set of pred-wings nights for sure, but still i think this is fair

handtrick 12-02-2005 05:43 PM

I'm down with that :thumbu:

That is the fairest and most logical decision for all involved.

Vokoun 12-02-2005 05:57 PM

I think its fair. I'm just glad that we are getting the goal.

Also the originally scheduled home game of Detroit at Nashville for Jan 23 is now moved to Thurs. March 30 to accomidate the make up game being played in Detroit on jan 23

It is absolutely a good decision. The fans get what they want, the teams can prepare for a regulation length game and the Preds get the goal they earned.

Nice job by the NHL on this one. Should be a fun back to back.

be reasonable. no one was asking someone to come to a 47 minute game.

Exactly ..... they should just be asked to come to the last 47 minutes of a game already in progress.

If they're going to insert a new game for March 30, then why not just make that game the makeup game? That seems easier instead of having to move other games.

Now we have to play 2 games up there (Jan 23 and 24). And we lose a set of the home-home games. I sure hope Detroit fans enjoy watching Nashville up there, because we'll be there 3 times in 3 weeks.

THAT i agree with.

jstreet 12-03-2005 04:53 PM

right now Im just glad that we get to keep the goal. especially with our propensity for 1 goal games.

Commander Enigma 12-03-2005 05:51 PM

Seems fair. I suppose there will be complaints if Detroit scores late in the game to tie or go ahead though.
