Mikael Granlund Laser HT C-juniors 11 games 9+16=25 points in C-Sm-sarja with 2-3 years older guys...

Mikael is unbelivable kid/player!
I dont know anyone in Finnish hockey history who has dominated
C-SM series so well than Mi.Granlund in that age...Only 13years old!!!

"tuo numero 64 on Mikael Granlund (synt. 1992), joka on näillä leveyksillä lahjakkain näkemäni juniori sitten Reijo Ruotsalaisen", maalailee Ring, joka on valmentaja monen lahjakkaan ikäluokan takana myös Kärpissä.

"Muistakaa nimi Mikael Granlund, poika on -92 syntynyt ja n.165 sulka päässä, mutta pysyi C-junnujen vauhdissa täysin mukana. Pelimies."

Markus is allmost same level player than he's big brother...

When is Jan-Mikael Juutilainen C (Jokerit) eligible? 2007 or -08?

Mikael seems to really dominate those games, i hope his progress continues the same way.

Btw. I would like to see Toni Rajala's stats as well, if someone could put them in here.

Toni is the best skater (in 1991 born's) and he have a great hands to play!
He can do what ever he wants on the ice!

They can do that in his age. It's impossible to say anything about him this early. Let him grow.

what about Myttynen Matias (Born -90), he is apparently doing well.
why aint he in your 2008 list?

Ilves seems to make alot of prospect potential owning players.

Joni Karjalainen and Jaakko Turtiainen are the biggest stars in HIFK-C (born91)

Very laughable and very interesting is to check the Finnish U17 national team and compare... Only two of these players are chosen to the newest one. Even the junior B scoring leader Antti Uusitalo is not chosen. How can we afford to have this kind of coach who choses players who have good relations and "nice face". Especially the defence is interesting, checking the scoring of defence only 1 of the chosen players belong to top 25.

OK, my only point for this is to ask why the h*ll Jesse Jyrkkiö and Antti Uusitalo are not in the U17 team? (maybe not the best thread but anyway...)

Maybe they didn't get to the team because they hadn't played that well when the national team coach was watching their game or maybe they aren't that type of players the head coach wanted to be on the team. I don't know why they aren't in the team but my point is, just because they are from Pori and considered to be great players in Pori they must be selected? Couldn't there be better players in the role the head coach considered them? I could have whined why Aleksis Ahlqvist or Miika Lahti didn't get selected to the WJC team (granted, Lahti is back up for the team) or why Ahlqvist wasn't drafted last summer. That's not my decision why he didn't get selected but I assume they didn't think he was good enough or didn't play good enough when he was watched by scouts or head coaches. IMO same thing goes to Jyrkkiö and Uusitalo.

Now back to the topic. There aren't many great prospects coming from Jyväskylä but I think Kaarlo Jormakka might have potential to be a good prospect in the future. His lack of size could hold him back but he can still grow. Is far from a sure thing but with a little bit of luck and hard work he could be a dark horse in the future.

What gives? Uusitalo is there. The team hasn't been assembled at its best yet, not even for the upcoming important tournament in Canada. They're missing Jyrkkiö, Hyvönen, Isokoski, Kiviniemi and Lucenius - effectively their first unit. As much as we've badmouthed the likes of Pajuoja in the past for questionable decisions, there's no way anyone would pick rosters like this for arvokisa tournaments. Neither will Mattila and Soro with the 89's.

I checked the tournament page and Uusitalo wasn't there. I am 90% sure I have seen right, maybe he has been added later?

EDIT: On tournament page (http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.cfm...62/la_id/1.htm) there still is Sami Lähteenmäki wearing #14

2007:

Jesse Jyrkkiö Ässät D 89
Heikki Hyvönen Jokerit D 89
Niclas Lucenius Tappara F 89
Roopertti Martikainen HIFK F 89
Sami Lähteenmäki HPK F 89
Toni Jalo TPS F 89
Eetu Pöysti HIFK F 89
Antti Uusitalo Ässät F 89

Does anyone know how Niclas Lucenius his doing this year (stat wise)? Do you think he will be a definant NHL prospect?

I'm wondering this because he attended my school (Upland CDS) in America last year being one of 2 Finish exchange students (A school tradition). In 24 school hockey games he had 66 goals, 35 assists (101 points), and had a +/- of +84 (http://www.europeanhockeyconnection...tats-04-05.html)

Thanks!

He was there but know he is injured...

"Ikävänä asiana oli se, että Antti Uusitalo teloi jalkansa ottelun ensimmäisessä erässä ja joutui jättämään pelin kesken."

"Suomen joukkueen kokoonpanosta puuttui Antti Uusitalo, joka teloi nilkkansa keskiviikon harjoitusottelussa Westiä vastaan. Nilkassa todettiin murtuma ja jalka on nyt kipsattu ja edessä on 4-6 viikon lepo."

Korkki 12-30-2005 01:30 PM

Yes I knew that injury already. But that was not the point of the post you quoted...

I would be interested to know how you base your rankings here? Have you really seen all these players play that much?

The most surprising name that I could say, would be Jesse Turkulainen from Huddinge. Isn't Huddinge in Sweden? How on earth can you see him playing regularly?

This list is based for my personal scouting, statistics and what i've seen, heard, read and wrote! It's allmost impossible to see all of these players playing regularly or maybe never!?

like Jesse, who plays in Sweden!

So,

I haven't seen how good Jesse Turkulainen really is, but i have heard great things about him and i'm pretty sure that he will be great player for Finland!

I think it's not very common, that defenseman is U16 national team scoring leader and he is also going to make he's debut in finnish U-17 team as an one year younger than he should???

Now, I want to ask you something!

When you rank some players, have you allways seen them playing? :sarcasm:

EDIT.

I'm just curious! :D
