Gleason

is gleason fast becoming our #1 fighter? after watching him go with thornton tonight i have to wonder is he bcoming our #1 fighter who will go with anyone when called upon?

Reaper45 12-27-2005 02:31 AM

As of right now yes he is. That just proves that we should have someone else in the lineup for that, Gleason shouldn't be out for 5 minutes, he's too valueable to us.

Well, he certainly seems to be close by when bad things happen to his teammates.

He and AVery have been the two to most consistently stick up for their teammates.

That's the way Tim was in Manchester last season. He had no problem going with anyone when needed.

Nice beat down on Soucy if I recall correctly..also Thompson from the B's.....

The fact that he went with Fedoruk and stood his ground is enough for me.

Not to be negative or anything kingpest19 but could you at least capitalize Gleason's name. I think he has at least earned the right to not have his name appear in lower case. Especially since we are all giving him props.:D

Gleason for Smoke is such a lopsided trade. Gleason is going to be a top pairing d-man and probably the Kings captain down the road.

He must have earned so much respect from his teammates for standing up for Guils.

The respect is coming ten fold already. Shanahan and Chara are no slouch's, and he opened Brendan up.....Not afraid, and actually know's the meaning of standing up for a teammate!

What sparked the Thornton-Gleason bout and how did Timmy do?

Thornton was coming off of a long shift. He had been taken into the boards earlier by Weaver, and was outmuscled a couple of more times. As the puck was behind the net, Giuliano skated out and got a forearm shiver (or elbow) to the face, that knocked his helmet off. Gleason seen it and gladly dropped the mitts. He threw a few pistons (3-4 shots) and may have connected on the last one. Joe than got over the top of him, and Gleason fell forward towards Joe. Both landed on the ice, and no real damage was done.

guzmania 12-27-2005 04:42 PM

Thornton was cycling behind the King's net and was getting really frustrated with the stickchecks and not being able to consistently hold the puck. Giulliano was skating out from behind the net and took a big hit from Thornton. Joe had him lined up really nicely. That's when he decided to throw the elbow. It was a real jerkwad elbow too. If Avery would have thrown it the World court would be in session today. Joe continues behind the net and runs into Timmy. Timmy grabs him, drops gloves and starts throwing. Joe pulls the both to the ice. 2 Minutes elbowing 5 minute major for Jo Jo the dog faced boy. 5 minutes for Glee-glee. No throw Joe was a little suprised by the vehemence of the retailiation from Tim. No real haymakers but Joe wanted the scrap over. That sent the proper message for the next 20-25 minutes. Probably also made Joe take a real dumb slash at Cammalleri. Kings take a 4-1 lead.
