sorry for the blues...
guys like zhitnik and any other veteran Dmen on poor teams should garner lots of attention.

Sounds like a good spot for Bryan Berard! I would even take waiver -man Jeff Hereema for Berard in an even swap. The guy I would like is Eric Bougunecki (sp), but I cant see that happening. Another intruiging guy is Jamal Mayers. Big banger with some talent.

If there's a lock-out, he'll probably retire...

Just curious, if the Blues are interested in Berard do the Bruin's have to be compensated? I was under the impression that Berard is an unrestricted free agent.

If the Blues are willing to pay over 80% of his arbitration award or > 80% of $2.51 million = $2,008,001 then the Bruins get no compensation.
If they want to pay less then they'll have to deal with the Bs.

FYI: Last night Blues radio play-by-play guy Chris Kerber asked Pleau if Bryan Berard was an option now or if the Blues would look within. Pleau said they would first need get more info on Al, then would prefer to promote someone from within.
