Frolov, Laperriere and Karlsson for Gagne + a 2nd or 3rd rndr

Thats what I'd offer. Philly gets a young budding star who will score goals and lots of them in this league, and I think is more an Eastern Conf player. They add Laperriere who is a heart and soul type player, can never have enough of those, he is an improvement over Claude Lapointe. And Karlsson will be a 3rd line grinder one day who can chip in 15 goals a year. Monster hitter.

I think Gagne's game is more suited for the faster western conference.

That is what some of the guys on the Flyers Board are saying

Man I would love to have Gagne in Dallas.. too bad that the players in the Flyers interest are quite possibly the best Stars at the moment.

Evilo 10-18-2003 07:34 AM

Beech+Kraft+Rozsival....

or

Orpik+pick

or

Morozov+pick

or

Straka+pick

I like Gagne a lot, and he is one of the Flyers I actually root for, but as a Coyotes fan I'd rather have Nagy or Doan. Neither have had injury woes, and both are much grittier players, to differing degrees. While Gagne is a much for talented offensive player than both of them, and the Coyotes could really use some scoring, neither deal would work because of how valuable Nagy and Doan are to the team. Doan is the captain, and Nagy is the best offensive player.

OK we have to put up a token Comrie proposal here.

And besides I would love to have Gagne in Edmonton!!!!

To Edmonton: Simon Gagne, 2 rnd pick 2004

To Philly: Mike Comrie, Jani Rita, 3rd rnd 2004

Thoughts?????

Takeo 10-18-2003 08:12 AM

Keep him.

the-rasta-masta 10-18-2003 09:50 AM

Calgary: Simon Gagne

Philadelphia: Denis Gauthier/Toni Lydman, Eric Nystrom, and Calgary's 1st in 04.

Wow that's quite a bit from Edmonton. even if Comrie isn't playing.

Unfortunately Detroit doesn't have the resources to get Gagne. ;__;

He's the one Flyers player I'd love to see in a wings' jersey.

I am pretty sure that the Flyers have enough D-man.

Chicago gets Simon Gagne
Philly gets Kyle Calder, Mark Bell

Calder and Bell are both 23. Bell was drafted 8th overall in 1998. At this point Bell is only a 15 goal, 30 point, 100+ pim guy. He does have potential to get better though, and if nothing else would be an upgrade over Brashear on the third line for sure. Calder has been right around 20 goals and 45-50 points for his first two season. He also plays gritty, and I think on a good team like ours could be better. I think his style would compliment JR and Amonte, and he'd score 20+ with them.

The Flyers lack skill, and they'd lose it in this deal. They'd gain alot of grit and toughness. Tough call here, I'd have to really think about this one.

If this deal goes through the Hawk first line will be:

Gagné- Ruutu- Sullivan.

Parrish, Aucoin, and Weinhandl.

Tanguay and Skoula. :joker:

DJ Spinoza 10-18-2003 10:43 AM

I don't think a team like Chicago would trade youth for him, but you never know.

Maybe St Louis might be interested, although I don't know their lines or young players (besides Sejna and Jackman who I doubt could be moved)...

I don't know, just rambling here...:dunno:

evman150* 10-18-2003 10:48 AM

Denis Gauthier and Chuck Kobasew for Gagne and a pick.

John Flyers Fan 10-18-2003 10:53 AM

i'm not looking to move Gagne, and none of the proposals here did anything to change my mind.

A few things when making an offer. Flyers are a very very deep team, it's our strength. we have 14 NHL forwards and 9 NHL defenseman. So we wouldn't be looking to makye any Gagne for two or three player deals.

Would either be Gagne straight up for a wing or center

or more preferably

Gange and more

for a better player.

AlMo 10-18-2003 10:59 AM

Since when is Gagne being shopped around?

I would think he would be one of the few players the Flyers would keep with the likes of Amonte, Roenick, LeClair, Kapanen, Recchi and Primeau getting older.

The Flyers have a decent young nucleus with Gagne, Williams, Handzus and Somik....why trade either of them?

He's not being shopped around.

A group of Flyers fans lookign to trade him because he was hurt last year and has yet to score in 3 games this year.

The team is eing built around Gagne, Williams, Handzus, Pitkanen, Johnsson, Vandermeer, Woywita etc.

Clarke needs to add a goalie to the youth movement.

And for the record, I would prefer to see Gagne stay in Philadelphia, I just wanted to see what other people thought, rather than just people visiting the Flyers board.

Esche is the youth movement goalie, like it or not.
