Trades du jour (I wish!)

Colorado has sent Ian Lappierre and a 2006 3rd round pick to Buffalo for Martin Biron

Montreal Canadiens sent Mike Riberio to Washington Capitals for Brendan Witt

Vancouver Canucks have sent Todd Bertuzzi and Ed Jovonoski to Montreal for Jose Theodore and Brendan Witt

Colorada has sent Aebeschier to Montreal for a 2nd round pick in 2006

Vancouver Canucks have sent Brendan Morrison to the Blues for Doug Weight

New Jersey Devils send Alexander Mogilny to the Canucks for a 2006 4th round pick.

The Canucks add $15.3 million in salaries but shed 12.3 million in salaries (14.75 million counting Cloutier's cap room)...adding a grand total of $550,000 at the end of the day.

The Canucks obviously get better in net, we win on defence because we probably will lose Jovo in the offseason, get better in the middle, but take a considerable hit on the RW with Mogilny.

If only these moves would happen.

The next day, Avs fans commit mass suicide...that or lynch Lacroix. Lappy is the heart and soul of the team, and Biron is not that big an improvement over Aebischer to even contemplate a trade.

[/I]

Montréal gives : Ribeiro, Théodore, 2nd pick
Montréal receives: Todd Bertuzzi, Jovanovski and Aebischer

= not enough cap space

The Habs will move Rick Green and J.P. Cote to Avs for Rob Blake :sarcasm: That will be the trade for tomorow :biglaugh:

Seriously I don't think Canucks will give Morrison, Jovanovski and Morrison.. but Brendan Witt in Montreal for Mike Ribeiro it's realist and pretty cool.

Well. Have a nice day.

The actual cap figures for everyone involved:

Weight = $5,700,000
Theodore = $5,333,333
Mogilny = $3,500,000
Witt = $1,672,000
TOTAL TO VANCOUVER = $16,203,333

Morrison = $3,200,000
Jovanowski = $3,990,000
Bertuzzi = $5,269,333
TOTAL FROM VANCOUVER = $12,459,333

That's a net increase of $3.75 million (give or take).
