New top 20

With Gleason, Brown and Camms graduating, and the resent nhl debuts of a half dozen guys this season. It may be a good time to rethink our top 20. We have some ncaa guys having good seasons and some other top 20 guys having not so good seasons. How would your top 20 look? I have to think about mine.

10. Baier

11. Kanko
12. Lukacevic
13. Brust
14. Guerin
15. Parse
16. Hogeboom
17. TJ Fast
18. Mormina
19. Stephenson
20. Fukufuji

For the most part I think it hasn't changed too much.
Roussin drops. Parse rises.
Boyle is a real wild card.

I guess don't consider Clarke & Guiliano to be 'prospects'. James & Ryan should have been on my radar but they probably fall somewhere in the teens.

Fat Elvis 01-10-2006 02:45 PM

1. Kopitar-all reports are that he's the real deal
2. Grebs-my 2 thru 4 are interchangable
3. Tambs
4. Tuk
5. Boyle-I think he'll be good but it'll take patience
6. Petiot-Solid
7. Push-not solid, but could be really good
8. Lehoux-not top end, could be decent
9. Kanko-young and would fill agitator roll in 2 years easy.
10. Baier-sophmore, no numbers but solid defensively
11. Zaba-good numbers, expect he'll improve once he turns pro
12. Parse-great skills by all accounts, interested where he'll fit in.
13. Brust-good numbers where ever he's played
14. Lukacevic-expected better numbers, plays for crappy team
15. Hersley-Solid, could be sleeper top 10 in a few years
16. Fukufuji-Could be good in the long run
17. Guerin-off year, like to see if he can rebound
18. Hogeboom-Needs to start producing with players called up
19. James-could be great energy line guy
20. Quick-1st year in ncaa, will be top 10 his senior year imo.

Just missing the cut;
TJ Fast-He'll be fine, may be great.
Munce-Wild card imo, not sure of his ceiling
Roussin-Young, hopefully he improves a great deal
Murry- you got me, outa sight-outa mind
Clarke-overage imo

Future considerations for Bryan Muir... :)

1. Kopitar - From what I've seen, he's the real deal.
2. Tambellini - You can't deny his speed and shot. He will get a point the next NHL game he plays, bank on it.
3. Tukonen - A pleasant turn-around after a disappointing year in Europe last year.
4. Grebeshkov - From what I've seen of his play recently, he's not too bad. Hopefully he can keep it up and play smarter.
5. Petiot - Won't put up the points, but will be a solid NHL defenseman
6. Boyle - I am really pulling for him.
7. Pushkarev - You can't deny his scoring ability
8. Zaba - One of many reasons Colorado College is a competitive team
9. Quick - A pleasant surprise for Massachussetts
10. Baier - His lack of production is a little discouraging for me
11. Lukacevic - Seems like he spent all his scoring on the night he scored 5 goals.
12. Parse - He really should be higher, considering his production, but I'm wondering if he'll be afflicted with the Marty Guerin syndrome (see below)
13. Kanko - I doubt he'll be anything more than a 4th line energy player, but he'll be fun to watch.
14. Lehoux - His production has been disappointing since his return
15. Fukufuji - Completing our list of players from obscure hockey countries.
16. Guerin - What happened to you, man?
17. Brust - Doesn't seem like he'll ever make it to the NHL.
18. Fast - Hasn't made a splash yet, really, but I think he will
19. Clarke - Good passer, but again I don't see an impact at the NHL level
20. Roussin - Anyone care to remind me why we wasted our 2nd round pick on this guy? Over Bertram, Korhonen, and Trukhno?

I have been telling people for years that I was the voice of reason in those rankings. Now...the evidence emerges! :teach:
