Predators place Markov on injured reserve, recall Weber

I'm looking forward to seeing him -- you would think he should have a few less mistakes with the extra time to prepare/ settle in before the game.

I will miss Danny Markov, but think this is another big test for Shea Weber tonight. I look forward to seeing how Weber performs tonight and what he learned from his first NHL game last week. I truly look forward to watching tonight's game.

If I'm Jamie Allison...I gotta ask myself, "What do I have to do to get some playing time?" I assume Allison will go if Timonen can't, but I don't expect to see him in the lineup tonight. Allison is a good solider and I think he knows his role on the team. I give hiim a lot of credit for the job he does.

I talked to Alison at the Islander game and he appeared very frusterated with his situation but all he can do is wait and do his best when he gets the chance.

Ugh, any indications as to how long Markov is out? What can we do to catch a break?

trotz this morning on why weber was REALLY called up instead of simply playing allison;

The 6-3, 213-pound Weber is considered the top prospect in the organization and is the leading scorer among defensemen in the American Hockey League.

"We have to find out (if he's ready),'' Trotz said. "It's part of the whole process. Sometimes you focus in on the next game, but you also have to look at the big picture. It helps determine where we need to go as an organization, from now until the trading deadline and beyond.''

If Phaneuf is playing in Calgary then Weber is as ready as anyone. He is as good as Phaneuf, maybe even better.

They play a similar game, but everything I've seen of Phaneuf tells me that he's considerably better than Weber. Weber is a great prospect, but that's getting a little ahead of ourselves.

i've seen phaneuf many times this year...he could well be the best player on the flames right now, in that's he more consistent than either iginla or kippresof in the 15-20 games i've watched the flames play... right now he's far ahead of suter much less weber... not saying they don't have the potential to be as good, but they're not on phaneuf's level right now

I've seen both play last year in the world Jrs adn Weber is as good as phaneuf. Just needs an opportunity to prove it. Lets see if Trotz gives him that opportunity.
