Handzus Shifts Into High Gear.

"Honestly, I still have not played my best hockey yet," he said. "I play a lot of power plays, and that helps a lot. When guys were hurt, I played with some great players. I had points from that.

"When you get older, you realize you want to be more consistent every game. After our injuries, there's been more leadership from older guys like me. I think every player wants to be more productive. I have tried to do that every year."
Handzus is a beast and I want very much to see him play his best game. Is anyone else curious as to how good he could be?

I'd like to Handzus score more goals. Assists are fine, but I'd like to see him pop in a few more. At this pace, he won't hit 20 for the year.

As for dealing Handzus, we have an overabundance of two way forwards. It's to the point though that it sometimes does more harm than good because the focus is more often on the defensive side of the game than the offensive side of the game.

I'd love to see us deal for someone who is an offensive dynamo, a Kovalchuk or Jagr type player. With that being said, we've got a good mix right now. What I'd like to see is Hitch somewhat lighten the defensive load on the 2nd and 3rd lines right now and let them play a bit of firewagon hockey. We have the personnel to do it and we have the goaltending to back up that style of play. That's just my opinion though.

I love Zeus for the simple reason that he shows the young players what it's like to play balls to the wall hockey. Not to mention that he's never missed a game while in the Orange and Black, that's priceless.
