Berard took a substance, Bruins took a goaltender

Craig Anderson, Chicago's backup goaltender of the present is now the Bruins backup goaltender of the future. Adam Munro is doing a very good job in Khabibulin's absence, so I suppose Anderson became expendable. Raycroft will be traded shortly. Stay tuned.

As for Berard, much ado about nothing.

Positive test for steroids is nothing?

One eyed roid freak?

That's really too bad about Raycroft, the kid is good, just playing bad on a team full of guys playing bad.

Berard story is on TSN. He will not be the only NHLer to go down for steroids. Steroids would help greatly in recovery from the wear and tear of the NHL, minor injuries and would help in building your legs up. You don't have to be big and buff to be a steroid user, just look at some of the guys who tested positive in baseball.

Even though Berard wasn't a member of the Olympic team going to Turin, his ineligibility thanks to the steroids means that there's one fewer defenseman above Gleason on the depth chart should Team USA have to replace a defenseman due to injury or whatnot. It's still just a glimmer of hope, but it's more than before.

Berard's drug only violates the IOC ban and not the NHL ban. Berard wasn't going to the Olympics anyways.
