Woo hoo...first game with a new captain. I think the Flyers may actually try this game and at least take it to OT. :)

*edit* Nvm, Lundqvist is in net.

jb** 01-30-2006 12:16 PM

I honestly don't know what to expect from this team in this game. If they come out like last game indications to me are that they have tuned out the coach which will lead to a huge downfall. If the effort isn't there and people seem to be going through the motions than soemthing needs to be done. This team can't wait for people to get healthy, Clarek needs to add a defenseman or 2. for a team with cup aspirations Jones and Meyer won't cut it as they shouldn't be taking a regualr shift on a championship claiber team.

GoneFullHextall 01-30-2006 12:18 PM

attitude and effort.

I want to see what we get from both those tonite.
I am expecting a angry, pissed off team tonite and a solid good effort. if we have to start a couple of fights so be it,

any chance this is streaming anywhere?

i hate not having OLN especially at such a crucial part of the season
and because i live in the middle of philadelphia :(

Easy sailing tonight; we got a starting goaltender and we're away. Sweet.

Relax, dude. The joke was on the Rangers. Their only real pugilist is Orr, and he's rarely dressed. When he's in, he gets 3:00 of ice.

The point is that even if the Flyers wanted to fight, the Rangers would have very little interest. It's not their game.

RoDu 01-30-2006 01:20 PM

Donald Brashear getting second line minutes makes baby Jesus cry. The slide continues, but atleast we show up this time. Call me a pessimist

im not neccesarily looking for fights tonite. i want a better effort, more physical play

TheKingPin 01-30-2006 01:55 PM

looks like wieght has been traded to carolina. Things just got real bad in the east for us.

Kevin Danko 01-30-2006 02:14 PM

Damnit, i wish we would have moved on Weight quicker, seeing what it took to get him.

The word was that it was goiong to be very expensive, obviously this was not the case. I didnt want him but i didnt want him to go to the Rangers, Ottawa, or Carolina. Anywhere else would have been fine.

Does this now mean that we have to get Samsonov.

TheKingPin 01-30-2006 02:28 PM

I know a lot of people wanted Sillinger, he was traded to Nashville for no name forward. I really hope that Boston tanks the next 10 games so we get Samsonov from them. At least the cheapness of all of these trades sets a low standard fro trading rental players. Wonder what Florida is looking for now????

Samsonov's price can't be compared to Sillinger's. they're nowhere near the same quality of player. Samsonov is also only 27 years old. That will play a factor in his value that was none in those of Sillinger and Weight.

FlyerFanLWB 01-30-2006 02:58 PM

id just be thrilled to see the flyers show some determination and smart defensive play... a win would be pretty big

umm rangers are 16-6-4 at home...and Lundqvist is 14-3-2 at home with a 1.56 goals-against average, and is 7-0-3 overall against Atlantic Division foes....so i don't know what easy sailing means ;)

Synthetic 01-30-2006 03:05 PM

The Flyers play well against the starters, it's the backups we continually have trouble with this season so far.

Thank you! :)

sansan 01-30-2006 04:15 PM

Hopefully we see a better effort tonite. Slim chance we win with all the injuries, but seeing any kind of intensity is enough for me at this point.

Nikkowar 01-30-2006 04:55 PM

GO FLYERS!

Lupul* 01-30-2006 05:03 PM

Maybe if everybody quotes the above post we will win. :)

a win tonight would be huge. morale is down all around this team right now and there is only one way to bring it up... a win against a division rival in their home arena. as said before...

GO FLYERS!

Nacho 01-30-2006 05:25 PM

Sorry, but if we couldn't score on Burke, then no way are we scoring on Lundqvist... :shakehead
