Loose pucks: C Peter Forsberg (groin), D Kim Johnsson (concussion) and RW Sami Kapanen (right shoulder) sat out Wednesday's practice, but D Eric Desjardins (right shoulder surgery) was cleared for full contact. Kapanen is expected to play tonight. Desjardins has missed 26 games, but could be cleared to return to the lineup as early as Tuesday. Forsberg and Johnsson could be back on the ice this weekend and return to the lineup next week. -- Chuck Gormley

Tough game tonight. Much needed is scoring from the forwards.

blueandgold* 02-02-2006 11:01 AM

Quick Question..... if we win is it gonna be cause you Guys are injured again?

Cause this time we are missing our top two Centers, a Top D guy, and a key to our fourth line.

Lupul* 02-02-2006 11:02 AM

If they put in the same effort they did on Monday, it'll be another win. :D

Good for you, as we're also missing our top two centers (who are better than yours), two of our top four defenseman, and a solid 3rd line checking winger.

... really?

missing our top two centers as well (including the best player in the world). Johnsson AND Desjardins... and Radio (key third liner and PK'er).

you also acted like a SO win was a friggin dominant victory last time.

lovin the fourth line comment by the way.

that being said, if you win... you win. if you lose... is it going to be because of your injuries? since you're prepping the excuse already.

blueandgold* 02-02-2006 11:33 AM

No excuses here... don't need'em...

Injuries suck, but it doesn't seem to matter....

When does being injured all season stop being bad luck and start being what it is...having guys who can't stay healthy...

You were injured when we last played you, you're injured now, you'll probably be injured in the playoffs..... tough.

Get guys who can stay healthy.

flyguy 02-02-2006 11:44 AM

blue and gold, don't you have your own board to post on?

are you serious...?

FlyerFanLWB 02-02-2006 11:55 AM

sabre fans have the same issue that ranger fans have... they finally have respectful teams and there fans get that cocky swagger... go figure

blueandgold* 02-02-2006 11:56 AM

Dead serious.... I can just see it already... if we win (could go either way, its gonna be a tough game) the excuses will flow like last time.....its pathetic....

I'm pretty sure the last time we played you all told me how the sabres were playing over thier heads and would come back to earth.....well..... didn't happen.... all without our best player.

Maybe if Forsberg or Gagne gets hurt around playoff time the NHL will give you a Bye cause they feel bad......

Heres to a good game tonight.... if we win, try to have some dignity and save the "yeah well our hurt guys are better than yours" BS...

Go to your own board and chat with your own pals, this is GDt thread is for us to discuss the game, all you are trying to do is stir stuff up.

I hate it when kids skip school to flame on these boards.

CharlieGirl 02-02-2006 12:00 PM

There should be a huge group - last I heard it was 6 busloads - of Richards fans (okay, and Derek Roy fans, but they don't count) headed from Kitchener for the game tonight.

I'm so envious....

1.)It seems like thye dont matter but trust me they will catch up to you before you guys get back to 100%.

2.)"They are another quick team, and a fast team. We’re going to have to take that speed away and use our physical game and play some Flyers hockey." - Donald Brashear, 2/1, on facing the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night :yo:

3.)Get ready or more injuries (Drury)

TheKingPin 02-02-2006 12:11 PM

Anyone else see that Naslund has pulled out of the Olympics because of his Groin strain. You think this will change Forsberg's mind??

Dr Love 02-02-2006 12:12 PM

Stick to talking about the game please.
