I hope that Hainsey is back in the line-up. I haven't been that impressed with Boullion and Hainsey needs to be playing regularly, not sitting up in the press box.

Nice job with the pics there. :yo:

I agree if they keep him in the press box then he won't get some experience. We know what bouillon can do that's why he's our 7th Dman. Hainsey needs to developpement to his full potentiel !

We want Hainsey :yo:

CrAzYNiNe 10-22-2003 03:55 PM

Why can't Bouillon be 6 foot 4 and 240 pounds, he would be a god in montreal :(

I want Hainsey to play, Bouillon is our #7 D-man, Hainsey NEEDS to play.

oli500 10-22-2003 04:27 PM

Not only will montreal have 2 good lines, they will even have a fourth line that will make some noice. I like Koivu and Ward playing togheter, this line will make thinks happen. For Montreal I think perrault will have couple goals cause he noes koivu is coming back. I think montreal has to shut down yashin in the first line cause if they are going to loose tonight its cause of that line. So Juneau has alot of work ahead of him.

My predictions is 4-0 montreal, theodore will have a strong game.

Capitano 10-22-2003 04:47 PM

My prediction is 3-1 habs (empty net)

Goal scorers :

Ryder
Ribeiro
Bulis

Yashin for the Islanders.

Go Habs Go!

Any idea on who else will be out of the line-up for the Isles?

Scatchard is hurt so he won't be playing. Godard might sit for Hunter because i don't think the habs lineup puts fear in the Isles. Either way the toughness is there with Cairns, Wiemer, and Asham.

Kvasha Yashin Czerkawski
Blake Peca Parrish
Bates Wiemer Asham
Papineau Bergenheim Hunter

or he dresses 7 dman and minus one of the forwards

Agalloch 10-22-2003 05:28 PM

I think it will be a close game but the Habs will win it 3-2.

The goals by Hossa, Brisebois and Perreault.

Wildcat 10-22-2003 05:31 PM

Iíll predict a 3-2 score.

If the Isles take it, Czerkawski will have the game winner. If the Habs win, Czerkawski will get the 2 goals. :rolly:

I just hope itís not redemption night for Czerkawski like Cechmanekís SO on Philly.

Go Habs Go 10-22-2003 05:55 PM

I predict a 5-1 Habs win. Good night for the Perreault line and Theodore will show Dipietro how it's done!

Go Habs Go 10-22-2003 05:56 PM

I assume that Souray is fine then. Anybody have any news whether he got hurt in any way following the Wings game?

arsobro 10-22-2003 07:45 PM

Julien must go with hainsey

i think that koivu could be a good fit at the left wing with ribeiro and zednick

bulis will earn his first point in the season. I like him!

go habs go :yo:

SwedenRulez 10-23-2003 01:35 AM

I predict a slow start for Koivu, but he will be moved up to the first line in the 3rd period.

All-Star 10-23-2003 02:06 AM

I predict 3-2 Habs...

Darz 10-23-2003 03:13 AM

I predict the habs will score 2 first period goals, and shut down the Isle's the rest of the night.

Montreal 3 - NYI 0

BLONG7 10-23-2003 03:27 AM

3-1 Habs.... Ward,Markov,Bulis.

Disco Volante 10-23-2003 04:55 AM

- How will Saku Koivu perform in his first on ice game in over a month?

I think he'll be pissed off about this 4rth line situation and he'll play at the top of his form. I expect that line to be our best tonight.

edit : well, Koivu not playing, I suppose we'll hope Ribs and Zed take this game on their shoulders.

- Will Jan Bulis be rewarded on the score sheet...finally?

No.

- Do you suppose Yanic Perreault will play up to expectations in order to earn his spot in the top six?

I don't see him doing much tonight.

- Can Rick DiPietro continue his blistering start to the season?

Oh yes he can. Be afraid. He could easily cost us the game.

- Will Ron Hainsey be inserted into the line-up?

He better be!

- How heavily will Mariusz Czerkawski be booed?

Can't tell. For sure he will be, and it will be unjustified. The heavier the boos, the lower the IQ of the fans, and we all know how low it can be.

- Will you win a Richard Zednik bobblehead?

I won't be at the game. But I wish you all that ugly thing.

Why would it be unjustified to boo Czerk. We payed him a bunch of money (what about $1 mil per goal) to come here and perfrom for us and he never. He was given every opportunity to do well but played like s*** the whole time he was here. Now it's like he's gone back to the team that he really likes and plays hard for them?

If I were there, I'd boo him until my throat was coarse.

I'm gonna say 4-2 Habs. I hope Hainsey gets into the line-up. We need him on the PP, cause if I have to watch Rivet make another end-to-blue-line-and-lose-the-puck rush in slow motion again, I'm gonna scream.

nic29+ 10-23-2003 05:45 AM

I say 4 - 3 Habs.

I love watching these two teams. The two hottest goalies in the league. :D

Like you probably booed Beezer or Malakhov or Valeri Bure. Good for you. Bad for Habs fans' image.

Czerkawski has been treated like crap by this organisation and its fan base. Got benched, sent to minors, never got a steady line for him to adjust to. He wasn't given all the opporunities to do well, he got singled out because he didn't backcheck or commit himself in his own end.

he's gone back to the team that he really likes and plays hard for them

Yeah. After they traded him for a third line grinder, he must have loved them for that. But they give him Yashin. They know about his subpar play defensively and they try to cover up for that, while still giving him the tools to shine offensively. You really think it's because he didn't like the Habs? that he prefered being benched and playing in the minors, which could have jeopardize his career? If so, boo the mother****er, but don't complain if I think you're a little weak in the upper parts.

Jumped over from the Isles board..

I'm gonna call for an Isles 3-2 win w/ an emtpy netter. Should be a good game. Going w/ Yashin, Blake and Chow w/ the G's. Will be a good game w/ both goalies playing well. Any of you guys here that Koivu is not going to play tonight. I saw a post on another board he took a spon this morning and doesn't think the knee is ready. As I said i can't confirm this just what i heard figured you guys up there may here something a little quicker than we do on Long Island. Thanks.

303Joe 10-23-2003 08:11 AM

No Koivu heres the story..

10/23/2003

MONTREAL (Ticker) -- The New York Islanders try to extend their unbeaten streak to five games Thursday night as they visit the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs were hoping to have captain Saku Koivu back in the lineup, but he's not ready.

After practicing yesterday, Koivu announced that he was fit to return to action. This morning, however, Koivu told the Canadiens' training staff that he had felt a twinge in his knee during Wednesday's skate, and the team has opted to suspend his return to active duty.

``It's frustrating, no doubt about it, you want to play,'' Koivu said after Thursday's pre-game skate. ``The team is winning and you want to be part of it but you can't go out there is don't feel 100 per cent.''

Instead of playing tonight between Steve Begin and Jason Ward, Koivu will miss his seventh game.

The Canadiens have played well since a 5-2 loss at Ottawa in their season-opener. They are 4-1-0 in their last five games and have outscored opponents, 15-4.

Montreal rebounded from its first home loss of the season with Monday's 2-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings, which improved its home record to 3-1-0. In 2002-03, the Canadiens did not record their third home victory until November 9.

Mathieu Garon got the start Monday and made 18 saves, while Begin and Richard Zednik scored. Garon was making his first start of the season and starter Jose Theodore is expected to get the call Thursday.
Theodore, who was 20-31-6 in 2002-03, is 3-2-0 with a 1.61 goals-against average.

New York has not lost since a season-opening 6-1 setback at Washington on October 9. The Islanders are 3-0-1 in that span and have outscored foes, 15-5.

On Monday, the Isles kept their streak alive with a 5-2 home victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Former Canadien Mariusz Czerkawski scored twice while Oleg Kvasha, captain Mike Peca and Jason Blake also tallied.

Czerkawski was re-acquired by the Islanders in the offseason after he scored just five goals in 43 games with Montreal in 2002-03. In his second stint with New York, he has matched that total while playing on a line with Kvasha and Alexei Yashin.
New York was 3-1-0 against the Canadiens last season. The Islanders won the final three meetings, including a 6-3 victory here March 20 when Yashin scored twice and collected three assists.
