Expected Salary Cap Increase and Its Impact on the Stars

This projected increase from a $39 million cap to a cap in the $42 to $46 million range is great news for the Stars. We've already got Turco locked up and the No. 1 priority in the off-season will undoubtedly be to re-sign Boucher.

I would also add this should increase our chances of keeping Arnott or going after another center with the money saved/increased salary cap.

Depending on where the Stars finish in the post-season, I would predict the club will spend a little money this off-season. With the All-star game next season the Stars will want to make sure they ice the best possible team. All good things if you're a Stars fan.

If the players decide to reduce their escrow obligation next season, the salary cap will be lower, too. That means the cap will be closer to $42 million than $46 million.

I think it's time we have to buyout him and give him a less salary to keep the team competitive.

Teams are not allowed to re-sign a player they just bought out.
