Predators 4
Legwand (2), Timonen, Erat
Atlanta 2
Kovalchuk, Stefan

I think Dafoe will start. This would be his first start, so he might be shaky.

Enoch 10-23-2003 11:25 AM

2 - 2

Kovalchuk and Savard

Timmonen and Johansson

Hopefully Savard and Kovalchuk rake in the points since I have them in a fantasy hockey league.

Predators win 4-1, Vokoun has another solid game.

tigger 10-23-2003 02:52 PM

Pasi got the start and has given up two quick goals already.

Hamhuis with a blast from about 20 feet out after coming out of the Penalty Box. Tootoo's was a blast from a bad angle.

SmokeyClause 10-23-2003 02:58 PM

Atlanta and Nash are going at it physically. But Nashville is the better skating team so far. Nashville avoided two early penalties and has really taken over since. We need to take over.

SmokeyClause 10-23-2003 03:02 PM

Atl with another PP. It was a hold, but it was a pretty bad dive by Savard. Typical dive, just stopped skating and started falling.

SmokeyClause 10-23-2003 03:39 PM

Another penalty. Atlanta is drawing these in less than reputable fashion.

SmokeyClause 10-23-2003 03:45 PM

Chuk gets the goal. Preds are clearly the better team but can't stay out of the box. Weak tripping call on Vokoun and they get nearly a full 2 minute 5-3.

We've had 6 or 7 penalties. Good news is if we can keep them on ES we can win handily.

Voynich 10-23-2003 03:53 PM

And the tide is turning.

Voynich 10-23-2003 03:55 PM

JP Vigier takes the puck in the corner and scores on a nice little wrap around.

There is a turnover in the neutral zone allowing Ilya to skate into the zone 1 on 1 and he promptly smokes Vokoun.

SmokeyClause 10-23-2003 03:57 PM

Atlanta takes over. Nashville got complacent and took several bad penalties and Atlanta takes all the 'mo. If we can get back to our game, we will win. But we don't fight adversity well. Are we the most indisciplined team in hockey now?

Voynich 10-23-2003 03:57 PM

Impressive display by the Predators in the game though. I wasn't aware that they were quite this fast. Excellent team speed. Tough too.

Wingboy2999 10-23-2003 03:59 PM

I just saw that highlight of Kovalchuk with his 2nd goal. Holy crap, that was a sweet goal. He is absolutely tearing it up.

Yeah, all our brawn, not enough brain. If we play smart, we could have ended the game.

Wingboy2999 10-23-2003 04:00 PM

And he is pulling away from Barnes. Uh oh Stars fans. Your guy is falling off.....

I'm thinking he has another one in him. We are playing poor mental hockey. THey aren't getting a ton of chances, just when they are, it's Kovalchuk.

Voynich 10-23-2003 04:07 PM

Close miss on the PP by the Preds. Puck is bouncing our way right now.

SmokeyClause 10-23-2003 04:07 PM

Arghh, we had great chance but Sutton hauls down Legwand at the goalline. Would have been an easy goal if he doesn't make the heads up play.

This just isn't our game. I think we ran into the wrong team. Something tells me that Atlanta's got something more than the average team this season. They could be special, if they keep this up and Kovalchuk keeps scoring. I want Lady Luck on my side for a change!

SmokeyClause 10-23-2003 04:23 PM

Another Penalty on the Preds to end the period. Supposedly, Timonen is not very happy about the way this game is being officiated. I will say I don't think it's been called very evenly, but our penalties, though embellished a few times, were deserved.
