Johnsson

Bad news about Johnsson still being out with the concussion. I'm starting to get worried. IMO, Johnsson is one of the most underrated players and D-men in the NHL. He is a solid presence on the blueline and is able to contribute with the occasional goal. I think the Flyers are really going to miss him if his recovery takes too long.

Any thoughts? :dunno:

Jester 03-01-2006 12:27 PM

hopefully it clears up...?

HoverCarle* 03-01-2006 01:35 PM

well if its a real prob at least hell take a paycut this year. imagine kim at like 1.5 mil. and we can probably get rico for 1-1.5 mil aswell. i think hes got a year or 2 left in him since hes been really good this year besides injuries.

Habs33 03-06-2006 06:34 PM

What's the latest with him? will he make it back for sure, we just don't know when, or
we don't know IF he will ever make it back?

His physical therapy has picked up which means he'll definately be back before the playoffs.

As long as he comes back healthy.

How do you know his physical therapy picked up? Is there an article online somewhere?

Gert B Frobe 03-06-2006 07:56 PM

I heard that somewhere too...

I understand that he's prone to concussions. How many has he had?

But i believe for this current injury, a concussion was ruled out?
why is he having post-concussion symptons?

Good question. And why is Johnsson "post-concussion symptoms" while Therien is "head injury"?

Winston Wolf 03-06-2006 10:15 PM

Hopefully Therien came down with a case of vertigo.

sansan 03-06-2006 11:31 PM

I don't recall Johnsson having a concussion history.

GKJ 03-07-2006 06:09 AM

I don't think Johnsson has been hurt where he's missed more than a few games before let alone having a concussion.

This is from today's Inquirer:

"Flyers general manager Bob Clarke expects Kim Johnsson (concussion) back on the ice soon. Same with Chris Therien (concussion)... ."

Joy and disgust, all within two sentences.

I know how you feel about retreads but Wayne Fish mentions Wes Walz (among other names) in trade possibilities.

Wez Walz is a different story. He played 2 games for the Flyers, 15 years ago as an injury call up. It's like if 15 years from now the Flyers brought back a very different and improved Boyd Kane. I'd have no problem with Walz coming back. It's guys that were here before under current management coming back that I am opposed to.

Right you are Ken. 2 games, 1 goal. The more I think about it, the more I like Walz. He's excellent defensively and he's very fast... two things the Flyers need to add.

No need to reply again but I am almost certain it came against Boston (team with whom the Flyers made the trade) in the immediate days following the trade.

GoneFullHextall 03-07-2006 11:54 AM

Waltz would probably fit in with the defensive mindset of this team, jsut would not expect anything out of him offensivly.

It's okay to bash Therien but one needs to look at the positive impact he could have on this team when healthy. The Flyers were battling through this losing skid while he was here, but maybe he could have lifted spirits when things went sour. I don't know, it's just kinda strange that when the worst player in hockey is on the ice we have a much better winning percentage than when he's injured or riding pine.

Win Loss Record w/ Therien
28-16

Win Loss Record W/out Therien
7-8

TheKingPin 03-07-2006 12:19 PM

looks like Morris is returing tonight from IR. Hopefully the Flyers are gonna trade for him after the game is over once we see how he is doing. That being said im not so sure because KJ is comming back...if we do this then we are going to get another forward of lesser salary and play.
