“I’ve never been one to shy away from the physical play and that’s the way things have been going this year,” he said after netting a goal in an 8-2 thrashing of the Philadelphia Phantoms last Wednesday. “I like the physical play – getting in there and taking the hit and making the hit. That’s all part of the game and part of the way I play.”
Sounds eerily simliar to another undersized player on the Rangers. Can't have too much of a good thing though, especially when your comparing him to Prucha.

Would be nice to have two wingers who actually go to the net, even if they are diminutive :)

I get what your saying here, but if we have another Prucha in Dawes, what a problem to have. Besides we got guys in the sytem with good size coming along. I could see our top two lines having some players smaller in size(Prucha, Dawes, Callahan, Cliche), but the bottom two having some pretty big bodies(G. Moore, Dupont, Jessiman, Falardeau) The other thing to consider is that Dawes, Cliche and Callahan have a reputation for being able to handle themselves pretty well. They have already learned to dish out a little pre-emptive medicine to dissuade players from taking runs at them.

I listened to one game near the end of last year where Dawes totally mauled some guy a lot bigger than him. The announcer said that you would have thought the guy said something about Dawes' mother the way Nigel took it to the guy. I'm not too worried up the up an comers at all. Maybe they can give PP some lessons.
